Amidst immense challenges in #Afghanistan 🇦🇫 , Afghan women are not waiting for negotiated solutions – they're driving change. The #CCHN recently organised a humanitarian negotiation training for humanitarian professionals, including 40 women who are leading civil society and local organisations’ efforts in the country. The participants did not simply discuss about a new negotiation methodology but shared their own learning and real-life experiences. They will use this knowledge to shape future action, create solutions and negotiate better access for Afghan girls and women. To learn more about the CCHN negotiation tools and how they can provide support through your operational challenges: ✅ Visit https://hubs.la/Q01-Wyl10, or ✅ Join one of our upcoming free negotiation workshops 👉 https://hubs.la/Q01-Wyl10 #HumanitarianNegotiation

Empowering displaced women can contribute to preventing gender-based violence. In the Women's Participation Project, economic empowerment of women was theorized as way to enhance social and cultural capital of women in the community, and thereby improve their meaningful participation. After seven years of implementation, WPP activities in multiple countries have found that it is, indeed, an effective strategy. ✔ Some of the many income-generating activities haved included skill-building and peer-to-peer vocational training in jewellery-making, basketweaving, food processing, goat-rearing, fish net manufacturing, soap-making, sewing, and tailoring, among many others. 💍🧼🐐🧵 The WPP continues to support the economic empowerment of displaced women in many countries, including #yemen. ⭐ Continuing our journey: New set of findings from "Engaging Women in the Humanitarian Response in Afghanistan" Following our initial insights shared a few days ago, we're excited to present more critical findings from our study with Ground Truth Solutions, supported by #UNWomen. ✅ Immediate aid matters, with both men and women valuing essentials like food, non-food items, and cash support in crises. Yet, the call for sustainable, future-focused interventions is rising. Communities seek solutions that empower them to build a better tomorrow. ✅ Urban women face distinct challenges. They feel less able to plan for the future compared to urban men and rural women. Their request for job opportunities is a pressing call for economic empowerment. ✅ While literacy doesn't significantly affect women's long-term outlooks, it has a stronger impact on men in rural areas. Men who can read and write feel better prepared for the future. 🤝 Our commitment is to foster a gender-inclusive humanitarian response. Keep an eye out for additional updates and valuable insights from this significant study! 📚 Full Report: For a comprehensive view, access the full report here: https://shorturl.at/hrvD8 #HumanitarianResponse #GenderEquality #EmpowerWomen #Afghanistan #ResearchFindings #sustainabledevelopment

🌟 🔍"Engaging Women in the Humanitarian Response in Afghanistan”: New Insights Building on the insights we’ve shared over the past few days from our study with Ground Truth Solutions, supported by #UNWomen, we're pleased to share some additional key findings: ✅ Organic Networks: Afghan women heavily rely on organic social networks for aid information, compensating for limited access to formal sources. These networks are considered trusted and safe. ✅ Face-to-Face Preference: The study showed Afghan women prefer receiving information in person from community figures, family, and organisation staff. 🤝 Our commitment is to foster a gender-inclusive humanitarian response. Stay tuned for more updates in the days ahead! 🎞️ UDHR75: Episode 10 of our Human Rights Economy Series (Arabic Version) In this episode, Amal Al-Saffar explains the core issues in our system and the solution proposed by United Nations Human Rights As the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, pointed out, "Something is fundamentally wrong with our economic and financial system." The solution is to focus on fostering a "Human Rights Economy." 🌎 This transformative concept aims to embed human rights principles and obligations into economic policies. It advocates for substantial investments in human rights, particularly in economic, social, and cultural rights, through a range of measures. This ensures that every individual can enjoy essential rights, such as social protection, education, health, food, water, sanitation, and housing. A big thank you to Fatima Tavera Navarro Grau for your valuable contributions to this project and the launch of the concept. #HumanRightsEconomy #Inclusion #Equality #ESCRs #SDGs #SustainableDevelopment
