Coordinator - Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Quality Assurance – PPP FSC - Africa Region
The ongoing armed conflicts in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo have forced countless families to flee their homes, creating an immense humanitarian crisis. As violence continues, the needs of displaced populations grow more dire by the day. The Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is on the ground, providing crucial aid and support to those affected, but the scale of the crisis requires a collective effort. We urgently need more resources to deliver life-saving assistance, including shelter, food, medical care, and clean water. We call on all members of the humanitarian community, partners, and concerned individuals to join us in responding to this urgent need. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable. https://lnkd.in/d8MZN3rQ #HumanitarianAid #RedCross #RedCrescent #CRRDC #IFRC #HumanitarianCrisis_EasternDRC

All durable solutions require innovation, wisdom and collaboration. CRN promotes the optimisation of networks of various resource and grassroots partners to deliver a strategic, compassionate and sustained response before, during and after a crisis. When it comes to crises involving displacement, we believe that networks can together find short-term and long-term solutions, and proactively equip all communities involved in the readiness, response and restoration phases. Additionally, the root causes of displacement can be better addressed collectively. This World Refugee Day, we celebrate the resilience of forcibly displaced persons and urge the global community to continue supporting those who have been forced to flee their homes by partnering with them in their pursuit of a safe and dignified life, offering what we have ‘in our hands’ - be it time, financial resources, skills, connections, prayers, knowledge and ideas - to contribute to the successful implementation of solutions. #WithRefugees

By celebrating World Red Cross Day, individuals and communities can demonstrate their support for the Red Cross's vital work in providing humanitarian assistance and promoting humanitarian values across the globe. World Red Cross Day's theme this year is "I give with joy, and the joy I give is a reward." People are reminded of the significance of compassion, love, affection, support, and treatment. The Movement has three globally recognized emblems—the Red Cross, the Red Crescent and the Red Crystal. They are symbols of assistance in times of conflict and disaster. What activities do the Red Cross do? International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has a permanent mandate under international law to visit prisons, organise relief operations, reunite separated families and undertake other humanitarian activities during armed conflicts. What are the 7 rules of the Red Cross? Humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality: these seven Fundamental Principles sum up the Movement's ethics and are at the core of its approach to helping people in need during armed conflict, natural disasters and other emergencies. How does the Red Cross provide? They provide the people, equipment, space and resources to support those affected by an emergency, helping them to recover.
