We’re proud to announce that Highlight founder and CEO Dana Kim has been named to Inc.’s 2024 Female Founders 250 list! 🎉 For Highlight, #IWD is more than one day or month out of the year. As a female-founded, minority-owned company, we prioritize investing in women–the support of our female-first investors like HearstLab and Ingeborg Investments help make this possible. As Diana Ransom, Executive Editor at Inc. Magazine said, celebrate this win today, but “most important, pay it forward. Mentor more. Help and nurture your team and fellow founders when possible, too. Your insight and advice need to be shared.” That’s what we at Highlight intend to do. We’re celebrating this award today–and all the Female Founders that made Inc’s list!–and we’re looking forward to continuing the work tomorrow, next week, next year and beyond. Here's to Strong Women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. I'd like to add, May we support them. Women have a bad rap of being competitive and cruel to each other, but I'd like to think that we've left that behind in junior high. I'd like to build a strong network of female entrepreneurs who support the crap out of each other. Who share ideas and celebrate together. Who teach each other and willingly give what they know to lift each other up. Being an entrepreneur is so tough. I don't know that I can make it easy, but I think I can help make it easier and less loney. Does that sound like something you're interested in?? Join me for an in person event on Tuesday, July 16 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm! We'll do informal networking, celebrate, introduce ourselves and Glenda Sheard will present on The Power of the Pause to improve your public speaking! Tickets are just $10 and you can learn more and register using the link above!

This is the year someone in my close network wins these awards 🙏 As a female entrepreneur and proud judge for the Veuve Clicquot Bold Woman Awards, I'm happy to announce that nominations are officially OPEN! 🍾 For over 50 years, these awards have celebrated fearless women who embody the spirit of Madame Clicquot - women who are bold, innovative, and unafraid to break the mold. 🏆 Are YOU ready to step into the spotlight? Whether you're a seasoned leader driving transformation in your industry or a rising star disrupting the market with your entrepreneurial vision, these awards are for YOU. There are two categories: The Bold Woman Award for established leaders honours female leadership, recognising women who embody the qualities of Madame Clicquot: an enterprising spirit, courage, and the determination to drive transformation in their field. This award celebrates women with a proven track record of success in their organisation and personal achievements while also actively inspiring others to follow in their footsteps. It is open to female founders and leaders of all types of organisations—private, charity, and not-for-profit—who have held their roles for more than three years. The Bold Future Award for up-and-coming entrepreneurs recognises women who are breaking new ground and taking an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to success. This award is open to female founders of organisations established less than five years ago. The Bold Future Award winner will embody Madame Clicquot’s values of innovation, audacity, fearlessness, and the drive to seize opportunities by bringing a new offering to market or transforming the market itself. Let’s celebrate the incredible achievements of women across the UK. Nominate yourself or someone you admire today! 🥂 https://lnkd.in/gEGmVPSE #VeuveClicquot #VeuveClicquotxWomen #BoldWomanAward #FemaleEntrepreneurs #Leadership #Inspiration

We celebrate women talent – every day. Our CBD Circle Women’s Luncheons continue into March, with Council for Board Diversity members Janet Ang and Jonathan Eu gathering another group of C-suites now on their board director journeys. Among them, a business builder and global capital markets expert, a founder creating a next-generation digital banking experience, a real estate boss who believes in the transformative power of the built environment, a Who’s Who Legal Global Elite Thought Leader, and the APAC MD of the platform you’re reading this post on. It’s pretty clear there’s no shortage of women leaders reshaping and innovating in today’s business world. Yet data continues to show less women than men serve on company boards, even among the pool of first-time directors at listed firms. If one has the skills and capacity, how can they earn an appointment to a board? This was a key topic the group got into over delicious dim sum, and, as you might expect, conversation was candid and encouraging. Of course, we jotted notes to share: 💬 Authenticity (and passion) is essential for effective board service 💬 You don’t have to wait till you exit executive leadership to take on a board role 💬 One way to build foundation is by serving on the board of a non-profit 💬 Attend a programme designed to develop effective directors (SID, INSEAD) 💬 Just as a board search has to be targeted, any board opportunity must be carefully considered Thank you all for sharing your experiences! #boarddiversity #diverseleadership #womenonboards #boardofdirectors Feon Ang 洪雍华 | Caecilia Chu | Joycelyn Ong | Tan Kemmy | Vivien Yui

We’re thrilled to share that The Female Quotient is a finalist in the Shorty Awards for best Branded Series, FQ Trailblazers in History and for our LinkedIn presence 🏆 We believe that change happens through powerful storytelling. Through our “Trailblazers in History” video campaign, we share the stories of “unseen” female change-makers. From historic firsts to pioneering the world’s most innovative concepts, women have made extraordinary contributions to the world as we know it. Yet, so many of these iconic women’s achievements have gone largely unnoticed because they were never documented in history books. For example, Albert Einstein’s first wife, Mileva Marić-Einstein, was a physicist too – and there’s plenty of evidence that her work contributed significantly to his groundbreaking science. They decided to publish under his name because a man's name carried more weight. The purpose of this campaign is simple, but powerful: Make the invisible visible by highlighting forgotten women in history. With a small social team of just a few people (who truly love uncovering the history of trailblazing women) and zero budget, we’ve organically grown this series post by post. FQ community: We'd love your help to vote for our team's creative work through April 30! https://lnkd.in/gjJBmbRe #shortyawards #shortyawardsfinalist #audiencehonor
