Day 2 of the #APSCC2023 conference is well underway, with insights on the #APAC launch sector from #launch sector leaders and newcomers 🚀 🇰🇷 INNOSPACE developing launch site capabilities in Brazil, while the government of South Korea is building a commercial launch site to be ready in ~2026 🇯🇵 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries providing a timeline for the H-III rocket (~2025), and providing some insight on the successful launch of the H-IIA last month 🇪🇺 ARIANESPACE showcasing their new infrastructure related to the Ariane-6, including a more sustainable (and cost-saving) sailing ship for transporting the rocket all the way from Europe to French Guiana 🇩🇪 Rocket Factory Augsburg - RFA on the importance of sometimes using non-space industry supply chains. The company is HQed in Southern Germany, near many automotive suppliers. It turns out many components can be sourced from there, allowing a nimbler and more diverse supply chain. Nicely done to APSCC on putting together a great panel, and thanks to Kevin French for the moderation.

🛰️✨ Wrapping up the 'European Space-enabled Connectivity Solutions for the Car of the Future' Workshop! A vital collaboration between the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the European Space Agency - ESA, 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), and the German ESA Business Applications Ambassador, with support from BMW Group, this event provided a platform for experts from both the automotive and #space sectors, along with government representatives, to address the challenges and expectations of achieving seamless, reliable, and secure #connectivity. Bärbel Deisting & Teodora Secara shared the main findings of our workshop: if governmental push is welcome and needed, private sector pull in the future is also a must. A problem half stated is a problem half-solved: although few technology issues remain, the main problem lies around business case, spectrum access and scaling-up. Linking space and non-space verticals is hard work and something that we will continue working on together 💪 Thank you all for the insightful discussions today that pave the way for collaborative steps to create a connected and sustainable future on the road. 🚗🌐
