At INTRUST, leadership is an activity, not a position. We introduce this concept through LEAD INTRUST, an in-house learning session we offer and encourage our employees to take when they have time. “It’s a space for employees to refine and evaluate ways to work through adaptive challenges they’re currently experiencing,” explains Danny B., learning and development coordinator. An adaptive challenge is a problem, issue, or opportunity where you don’t have the information you need or a checklist you can follow to help you work it through. Using resources from the Kansas Leadership Center and the book ‘Your Leadership Edge,’ the learning session teaches the concept of adaptive leadership, equipping participants with the tools and framework to accurately diagnose and move through these situations. “We guide them through ideas that can help them navigate adaptive challenges they face in their work,” Danny says. “We see that this helps our employees lean into adaptive challenges when needed, which ultimately leads to a higher level of leadership capacity across the bank.”

Wiley's recent research shows that only 57% of managers have received training in conflict management. When you don't learn how to engage in conflict in a healthy way, it can lead to serious dysfunction within a team. Conflict includes not just attitudes but the act of discussing performance and delivering feedback. Having difficult conversations will build trust with your people and reinforce your commitment to transparency and psychological safety - up, down, and across your organization. Our leadership development programs focus on conflict as one of the essential elements in leadership and culture development. Learn more about our approach 👉 https://lnkd.in/gAPibCtJ

💡This week's relishing read takes a look at 'Bottom-Up' or 'Reverse Mentoring' as a tool to address generational and cultural divides facing business today. This approach creates a platform across which younger employees can share their acknowledgements and perspectives with older employees. By engaging in reverse mentoring, senior leaders can gain invaluable insights into emerging trends, bridge generational gaps, develop critical digital skills and foster a more inclusive workplace culture that retains diverse talent. Once again, the success or failure of such approaches falls directly on the organisation’s leadership and leadership culture. At the Trust Based Leadership Academy, we work hand in hand with leadership teams, creating and maintaining an environment of trust that is the bedrock for fostering healthy, cross generational relationships. Don't take our word for it ---put us to test 🤓 Contact us for a no-obligation consultation to explore taking your leadership development approach from 'good' to 'GREAT'💥🚀 https://lnkd.in/dqPxFy9D
