Maternal & Child Health (MCH) on steroids! Could there be anywhere better to invest intellectual and digital capital? Liveborn (newborn infant) was the most common diagnosis, accounting for more than 10 percent of all US hospital stays, 4.2 million stays in 2009 alone. Pregnancy and childbirth-related stays made up approximately 30% of ALL Medicaid stays. The scale is as staggering across developing countries! Back in Nigeria as a physician our Antenatal/Post-natal clinics could see 200-300 patients per day! About 7.16 million births per year predicted across Nigeria alone in 2024. Millions of women at risk for several unpredictable problems, going through the most significant and sometimes traumatic physical/emotional experience of their lives. There’s almost no better place to invest digital intelligence and innovation to safeguard our species and future generations. By keeping the hospital-based care team connected to expectant mothers at home throughout their 40ish week journey through a digital ANC control tower, Intron Health is creating a new wave of Smart Ante-natal clinics across Africa leveraging cutting-edge technology to expand the ability of passionate obstetricians, nurses, midwives, TBAs, and CHWs to, QUICKLY identify high risk cases and events, so they can intervene EARLY to reduce morbidity, mortality and pregnancy/perinatal complications. Join me tomorrow at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in LA for an exciting session discussing our digital innovations in MCH with an amazing lineup of panelists Adeline, Dheera, Bethany and Fredrick at the renowned Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) Conference hosting over 1500 delegates from over 60 countries. Look forward to meeting you there! #innovation #digitalhealth #maternalhealth #healthtech #healthcare #cugh Consortium of Universities for Global Health
