On Dec. 15, Russia conducted over 80 strikes, targeting Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Ukraine, impacting 18 settlements, and causing widespread destruction. Multiple cities in the region were hit by MLRS and UAVs, destroying at least three residential buildings. HRF strongly condemns Russia’s indiscriminate attacks across Zaporizhzhia Oblast. We stand in solidarity with those affected and call for Russia’s immediate compliance with international humanitarian law. https://lnkd.in/eBpMPZK8

NEO Morning Observer: Israel is now militarily involved in Gaza, Lebanon, the West Bank, and Syria. Syria is the newly emerging concentration of strikes. We are waking up each morning to new reports of Israeli strikes on Syria. While we know that Syrian territory has been used by groups since the beginning of the conflict these have been mostly ignored or dealt with on a lower level. Now, we are witnessing a noticeable uptick on strikes against Syrian targets. Drones were launched from Syrian territory last night and directed against the southern Israeli city of Eilat. It is uncertain why this city was targeted by drones emerging from Syria given that the northern zone is a much more target rich environment and the strategic value of Eilat for Syria is minimal. There will be further discussion of Eilat in a later post, today or tomorrow. However, our main point in this observer is to communicate that, the steady pace of ground engagement with Syrian forces is taking on a new form which indicates a level of preparation and a willingness to expand this into a regional war. The Israeli response involved strikes against four or more individual command centers and radars. This follows on the heels of multiple targets being hit by tanks and artillery earlier this week on positions along the Golan Heights border and a smaller engagement on Thursday.

Today, Russia struck Ukrainian cities, resulting in over 170 injuries. As of now, 37 fatalities have been reported, including three children. My condolences go out to their families and loved ones. In total, nearly 100 facilities were damaged, including a children’s hospital, ordinary houses, kindergartens, a maternity hospital, a college, and a business center. The rubble is still being cleared at these sites. Russian terrorists must be held accountable for this. Mere concern does not stop terror. Condolences are not a weapon. We need to shoot down Russian missiles. Russian combat aircraft must be destroyed where they are based. Strong steps must be taken to eliminate any security deficit. The world has the necessary strength to do this. Our partners are capable of making it happen. Decisions are needed as soon as possible. #Repost @zelenskyy_official ・・・
