In European elections week, and as transport and connectivity are the heart of European projects, ERA would like to stress that air connectivity is essential to ensure equal opportunities to all European citizens regardless of their territories, developing regional economies and local communities. Regional airlines provide air services to all territories of Europe, both for passengers and cargo.   Regional airlines cannot be left behind and their specificities must be considered to ensure European citizens continue to enjoy the freedom to fly and access to goods and services even in remote destinations, at affordable prices.   We support the decarbonisation of air transport through the development and implementation of SAF and the progress of zero-emission technologies on short-haul routes, which need to be politically and financially supported.   #ThinkRegional – so no region, business or citizen is left behind

A4A Statement on Dutch Government’s Suspension of Phase I Capacity Reductions at Schiphol Airport WASHINGTON | November 14, 2023 – Airlines for America (A4A) applauds the Dutch government’s decision to suspend Phase I of Schiphol Airport’s capacity reductions: “Today’s announcement that the Dutch government will suspend their plan to reduce flights in and out of Schiphol Airport for the Summer 2024 season is welcomed news. We are grateful to the U.S. government, particularly the Department of Transportation for listening to the aviation industry’s concerns and issuing a very strong order outlining the violations of the U.S.-EU Air Transport Agreement. This order and subsequent government to government discussions held this week with the Dutch and EU were instrumental to persuading the Dutch government to this successful outcome. “A4A remains committed to addressing both the needs of passengers and shippers while continuing to focus on reaching aviation’s global climate goals, including reducing noise pollution.
