MOL Group has reached another milestone: we handed over a 10 megawatt capacity green hydrogen plant in Százhalombatta which is the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. It can now produce green hydrogen without producing any greenhouse gases. The €22 million investment makes fuel production more sustainable: the plant will reduce the Danube Refinery's carbon dioxide emissions by 25 000 tons. It is like taking roughly 5,500 vehicles off the road overnight. MOL will be able to produce 1,600 tons of clean, carbon-neutral green hydrogen per year which opens a new chapter in hydrogen economy. The investment is in line with the MOL Group's SHAPE TOMORROW corporate strategy to make the region more sustainable, competitive, and self-sufficient. After Százhalombatta, we will take the technology to the other two fuel production units of the group to make the fuel production process more sustainable at each of MOL Group's refineries.

Electrofuel developed from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide tested in practice for first time in Finland. The E-fuel project of VTT and partners has developed a concept for producing electrofuel from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide using a combination of different methods. The new electrofuel is also suitable for vehicles that are difficult to electrify, and is therefore an important step in the development of sustainable fuel solutions. The E-fuel project, coordinated by VTT, has combined high-temperature electrolysis, carbon capture and Fischer-Tropsch hydrocarbon synthesis to develop electrofuel production for commercial and industrial scale. Levidian displays ‘ultra-green’ hydrogen production technology to UK Government. By Edward Laity Levidian and United Utilities have showcased waste-to-hydrogen production technology to representatives from the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Capable of producing hydrogen and graphene from biogas as a fully sustainable feedstock, the patented LOOP technology will enable United Utilities to produce its own on-site hydrogen for heavy-duty fleets. The project received £3m ($3.8m) of funding from the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio’s (NZIP) BECCS Innovation Programme last year (2023), to ensure Levidian’s LOOP100 system is installed at United’s Manchester Bioresources Centre to decarbonise biogas produced there. https://lnkd.in/dnWqZWXp

We are thrilled to share that Piva Capital has led a $129M Series B funding round for INERATEC - a pioneering e-Fuel company! 🌐💡 INERATEC is set to revolutionize the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable e-Fuels. With the new capital, the company is gearing up to make a substantial impact The company’s scalable patented technology is at the forefront of this paradigm shift. The process involves converting CO2 and hydrogen into synthesis gas, paving the way for the production of 'drop-in' e-Fuels compliant with industry standards. The goal? Transforming 1GW of renewable energy into 125 million gallons of sustainable e-Fuel by 2030. The new capital will fuel the mass production of industrial-scale Power-to-X plants worldwide, with projects already underway in Frankfurt, the Netherlands, and Chile. This expansion aims to recycle over 12 million metric tons of CO2 annually – equivalent to what 1.125 billion trees would store. More here in Sifted ⬇️

Norwegian duo reveals plans for hydrogen and bio-methanol production Norwegian companies Norwegian Hydrogen and MI member Glocal Green have entered into a concrete cooperation agreement for the development and establishment of hydrogen production in connection with Glocal Green’s planned bio-methanol plant in Øyer in Gudbrandsdalen. The deal is based on the dialogue the two companies have had since they entered into a letter of intent two years ago, Norwegian Hydrogen said, adding that the hydrogen production will be organized into a separate jointly owned company. Dag Nikolai Ryste, CEO of Glocal Green, stated: “A two-year study and dialogue between us have today resulted in a joint commitment to hydrogen production in connection with Glocal Green’s methanol production units. It has crystallized into a clear win-win model between the parties, and in addition, this efficiency will benefit all other parties along this holistic value chain, and not least the market.” According to Norwegian Hydrogen, bio-methanol will be produced from low-grade biological residual materials and by-products from forestry, agriculture, and the marine sector, and by adding hydrogen in the production process, “all the green carbon is utilized, resulting in a volumetric doubling of methanol production.” This methanol, with added hydrogen, is termed bio-e-methanol. https://bit.ly/3KCp5h9 #methanol #efuel #energy #energytransition #futurefuel #cleanfuel #alternativefuel #marine #maritime

Welcome to SHG Supreme Hydrogen as GRZ Official Partner in Sweden. 🤝 SHG Supreme Hydrogen AB, founded in 2018, is a knowledge and engineering company developing and applying circular, green, and emission-free energy solutions. Hydrogen is a clean and sustainable secondary energy source for the future of our planet. Hydrogen can be used for transport, real estate, power supply, grid balancing, modern agriculture, and industrial purposes. Industrial scale hydrogen supply is today mainly based on natural gas or biomass. But, the technology behind hydrogen production from water is known since the 1830-ies. Our vision is that electrolysis of water will contribute to a totally emission-free mode of storing and using energy – a system where energy can be handled and distributed in the same way as we have done with fossil fuels. SHG Supreme Hydrogen AB is focused on development and implementation of systems for production, handling and usage of green hydrogen, and other products generated by green power.
