Did you know that Overactive Bladder (OAB) affects over 6.9% of men and 8.6% of women in India? OAB occurs when the bladder muscles contract involuntarily, even when the bladder isn't full, causing a range of uncomfortable symptoms. A sudden and urgent need to urinate, more frequent trips to the bathroom (nocturia), and incontinence (involuntary leakage of urine) are symptoms of an Overactive Bladder. OAB isn’t just about the bladder woes but the larger impact it can have on the social and mental well-being of the patients. While OAB symptoms are commonly seen in aging females and males, sometimes even younger patients may present with OAB symptoms. World Continence Week (17th – 23rd June 2024) is a global event to raise awareness on bladder health and incontinence. In observance of World Continence Week, we at Intas collaborated with the incredible sand artist Mr. Nitish Bharti to create stunning sand art that portrays the lived experiences and quality of life challenges OAB patients face.
