More than just assessing risk… When most people think of an underwriter, the first thing that comes to mind is risk assessment. While evaluating risk is undoubtedly a core component of my job, my role encompasses so much more; and honestly, these other components are what my brokers probably care about the most. Why? Because it solves their problems. As example, here are a few hats I wore this morning in addition to underwriting: - Technical support - Billing - Customer service - Marketer Maybe you’re asking why im wearing extra hats, but I know my brokers would do the same for their clients so why shouldn’t I be there for them? I see my role as dynamic and often the link that brings my brokers closer to solutions. I understand that by being a relatable point of contact and the link between departments, I’m contributing to a positive customer experience, which is invaluable in building long-term relationships.
