We’re excited to be on the ground in Paris at the largest international congress for the global HVARC community - the International Congress of Refrigeration (ICR) taking place every four years. At the opening of the congress it was revealed that out of the 470 scientific papers submitted to the congress, 'HEAT PUMP' was the most frequently used word. 🌟 Exciting Study on Methanol Fuel Space Ventilation 🌟 We’re thrilled to share insights from our latest research on the effects of ventilation in methanol fuel spaces, a crucial aspect for maritime safety! https://rb.gy/pb0p2h 🔍 Study Highlights: - Conducted by CCS, Methanol Institute (MI) & #CIMC Sanctum - Examined methanol vapor concentration under varying ventilation rates and leakage conditions - Scenarios tested: Continuous methanol leakage and static volatilization 📊 Key Findings: Ventilation Efficiency: -Even minimal ventilation (15 times/hour) can control vapor concentrations within safe limits (<20%LEL). - Enhanced ventilation (30 times/hour) significantly reduces methanol concentration rapidly. Static Evaporation: - Methanol vapor levels stabilize with ventilation, ensuring safety. - Increased ventilation rates (up to 60 times/hour) effectively manage higher leakage scenarios. 🚢 Maritime Safety Implications: Continuous monitoring and adaptive ventilation strategies are vital. Ensuring emergency ventilation systems are in place can prevent #hazardous concentrations, even with high methanol leakage. 🔧 Next Steps: Implementing these findings can revolutionize #safety protocols for ships using methanol as fuel.
