Just in time for summer cooking, starting today New York Times Cooking subscribers accessing the New York Times Cooking website can add ingredients from a recipe to their Instacart cart with just a few taps. We're thrilled to announce that our Search team has been accepted to present their groundbreaking research at the prestigious ACM KDD Conference in Barcelona this August — one of the premier international forums for data science, machine learning, big data, and artificial intelligence research and applications. Their paper "Mitigating Pooling Bias in E-commerce Search via False Negative Estimation" introduces an innovative approach called Bias-mitigating Hard Negative Sampling (BHNS). This method significantly enhances the relevance of search results by reducing errors during data training, which is crucial for improving user experience and boosting business outcomes.
