Here’s 7 tips to best start your new academic year! 1. Embrace curiosity: Approach each subject with an open mind and a thirst for knowledge. Curiosity fuels learning and helps you delve deeper into the topics that intrigue you. 2. Seek support: Don't hesitate to ask for help when needed. Reach out to professors, teaching assistants, or fellow students for clarification or guidance. Remember, seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. 3. Engage actively: Actively participate in class discussions, ask questions, and contribute your perspectives. Engaging with the material and your peers enhances your understanding and fosters a more enriching learning experience. 4. Find a study routine that works for you: Experiment with different study techniques and environments to discover what helps you retain information best. Whether it's studying in groups, using flashcards, or finding a quiet corner in the library, find what works for you. 5. Connect with peers: Build relationships with fellow students through study groups, clubs, or social activities. Connecting with like-minded individuals not only enhances your university experience but also provides a support network. 6. Set realistic goals: Break down your academic goals into smaller, achievable milestones. Celebrate your progress along the way, as it will keep you motivated and focused on your long-term objectives. 7. Embrace challenges and learn from failures: University life may present challenges and setbacks. Embrace these opportunities for growth, learn from your mistakes, and view them as stepping stones towards personal and academic development. #WeCreateLeaders __ #UniversityTips #AcademicSuccess #SupportNetwork #Organization #ActiveEngagement #StudyTechniques #PeerConnections #RealisticGoals #EmbracingChallenges #SwissSchoolOfManagement

Delighted that in a few days, my mentee is earning her Masters degree from UA&P after successfully completing her thesis. Here are three (3) things I find valuable both in thesis-writing and in the workplace: 1. Proportionality. E.g., if a point can be made with a short sentence using plain language, then refrain from being verbose and jargon-heavy. 2. Responsiveness. E.g., present data and analysis that help respond to the problem/s sought to be solved or answered. Everything else could be a distraction. 3. Empathy and moral support. E.g., sometimes, mentees will figure things out on their own not because they got answers from their mentors, but because the former received much-needed emotional boost from the latter.

"I did well at uni, in the end. Academically speaking. But I still regret not making more friends, not getting involved in uni life. Because that, I think, would have bolstered my spirit when I received that “pass” grade. It would have made the study less important. If there’s one thing uni taught me, by the end, it’s that 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲. 𝗙𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Because now, nobody cares about my passes or high distinctions. Not even me". - RMIT Students can join the Career Mentoring program here: https://lnkd.in/gUwb68ue - Read the SMH article here: https://lnkd.in/gmHnnxHm
