The Government of India's commitment to the Nation's 'NetZero' targets will be demonstrated by its strong support for the Coal-to-SNG project, which will use Indian coal gasification to achieve a significant reduction in CO2 emissions while producing comparatively (50% lower) cleaner power to meet rising demand. India, which has 24.8 GW of gas-based power plant installed capacity but runs at a plant load factor of 12% (2022-2023), will now aspire to use SNG as an indigenous fuel by well-established coal gasification technology to replace imported high-cost LNG. #decarbonisation #gasification #netzero #atmanirbharbharat #coalindia #gail #gaspower

During a recent conversation with Business Today, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, Mr Abhyuday Jindal, discussed the measures the company has taken to comply with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) introduced by the European Union (EU). He mentioned the proactive steps the company is taking to reduce its carbon footprint, such as forming a recent partnership with ReNew Power to establish a 100-megawatt hybrid renewable energy round-the-clock project. The company is also looking into integrating SAP to streamline CBAM emissions calculations, which will help Jindal Stainless remain competitive with other exporters supplying to the EU. SECI has announced list of bidders for Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme (Tranche-II). Below are my interesting observations from below list: 1. Bid is oversubscribed almost by 100%, it shows keen interest of Indian electrolyser manufacturing players in green hydrogen economy. 2. A lot many new companies have participated in this bid in comparison to companies participated in tranche-I. 3. Out of 23, leaving aside 6-7 companies, all other are comparatively small caps, it shows trust, transparency and ease of doing business created by Government of India for the smaller companies. 4. 13 companies out of 23 have quoted in Bucket 2B. As bucket 2B is to be evaluated first, smaller players have higher chances of getting awarded against bid quantity.

As we celebrate these significant milestones (see video below) at Arcadia eFuels, I wanted to mark the occasion with my reflections on my first year with Arcadia and a crash course in bringing a solution within the energy transition: 🏫Collaborative Learning: I've observed that learning is a collective endeavor in this field. The energy transition is a complex and evolving challenge that requires inputs and insights from various stakeholders. Each group brings unique perspectives and expertise, whether end-users, policymakers, financiers, NGOs, or producers. This collaborative approach is essential to develop effective and sustainable solutions. 💡No Question is Too Simple: This energy transition is a relatively new field, and therefore, my curiosity and open inquiry are vital for understanding and progress. Staying humble to clarity on the result should always be my guide.   🤸♂️Importance of Assumptions and Flexibility: My need to articulate assumptions clearly and prepare to update them is a significant learning. My flexibility and adaptability are critical in a rapidly evolving field as the energy transition. This mindset allows for incorporating new data, technologies, and strategies, ensuring our approaches remain relevant and practical.   🙏Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't highlight the constant sense of gratitude and perspective I have with our team and supporters. This gratitude also includes my family, who do a lot to make my work in this exciting area possible. Looking forward to what we can accomplish together in 2024!🎉
