The potential of AI outside of language and targeted at life sciences can prove foundational. Two interesting stats from this article “the human genome was sequenced, at a cost of nearly $3bn, in a global effort that spanned more than a decade… today, sequencing a genome requires less than $1k and a day”. By comparison, the data in the human immune system is millions of times larger and vastly more complex—AI can be used here to fill the gap between resources (I.e., human capital, financial capital, probaliatic modeling, etc.) and effiency (e.g., time).
