Our CEO Daniel Gould spoke to Morocco World News journalist Jihane Rahhou on how SDX is fuelling economic growth in Kenitra, our expansion plans to supply additional gas from abroad, and what it all means for Morocco as a whole. “Apart from producing more gas, we want to really spearhead the importation of more gas in order to satisfy the energy demand for electricity, as well as industrial use,” Daniel said in the course of the interview. Well over a billion dollars of FDI and 4,000 direct jobs have already been created by SDX's offtakers in the Atlantic Free Zone, with ambitious expansion plans dependent on the supply of natural gas. Being the world’s top producer of cocoa, the country plans to become a major power supplier in West Africa. It generates about 2,250 MW of power, mostly from gas and oil, which it exports to surrounding countries, including Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, and Mali. ..... following my previous post, this is the version 2 of the earliest design, in the aim of creating a clean and affordable energy system for the betterment of our society, environment, and economy. The problem with this design was that considering the fact that an electric motor will be used to rotate the armature of the alternator to generate electricity, the choice of electric motor has to be an AC motor because they have high running torque and can scale to larger sizes as the output demand increases compared to a DC motor which has scaling limits, it will therefore require an AC source for the system to be self- sustaining. The AC source will therefore come from an inverter system which makes the system lack efficiency greatly. And so the story continues....
