Exploring important questions about the role and practice of #evaluation in #SystemTransformation in a very insightful workshop at #AES23 with Jess Dart from Clear Horizon Consulting and Zazie Tolmer - Director at CoIntent: 1. When is evaluation part of the problem holding a system in place? How can we show up differently as evaluators? 2. How can evaluators shift from judging programs to exploring how systems behave, helping initiatives spot and respond to system shifts, and track progress? Is that even evaluation? 3. How can we manage accountability and expectations of (quantitative) results when system transformation involves playing the long game?

TAB Member Case Study - Mike Mayo Mike Mayo is the Cofounder and President of Nanohmics, an Austin, Texas based R&D company. Mike’s field is intensely interesting and mostly project based. As the company grew, Mike and his business partner were challenged by their evolving roles. They knew they shouldn’t be doing it all themselves. "My partner and I pretty much DIYed everything. We learned how to do accounting, we learned how to do all the HR stuff. When we were less than 20 people, we could handle all those things. I could keep track of every program in my head. Running the business part back then just didn’t take much time at all." But as the company grew, it was important to learn how to lead the business rather than just head up a project – to work ON the business rather than IN the business. That is when Mike joined his TAB Board. Mike credits his TAB Board with helping him look at himself introspectively. He says that his fellow board members have helped him identify what he is good at and what roles might be better aligned to someone else on his team. Learn more about Mike, his fascinating business, and his TAB Board experience in this TAB Member Case Study from The Alternative Board (TAB). https://lnkd.in/gVKgpvcc #tabboards #businesscoaching #peeradvisoryboards #membermonday
