Welcome 2024! With the new year comes new frontiers and the exciting launch of my own design studio, Versa. After four years as leader of commercial interiors at Carr, I’m incredibly excited to be launching my own business, founded upon the strong beliefs and personal philosophy formed over decades of working and leading within two of Australia’s most esteemed design firms. Versa is founded upon the belief that every project represents a distinct opportunity for real impact: to rethink, reinvent and regenerate. These are the pillars upon which we base our process. We take a holistic and forward-thinking approach to deliver vital spaces with real, measurable impact, that are designed for people and longevity. We design with respect and responsibility to minimise waste, re-purpose, revitalise and breathe new life into existing spaces that tell unique stories of the old and new, and invite new and enriching experiences. I am fortunate to have worked at some incredible design houses – Carr and Hassell – which have afforded me opportunities to explore, to be bold, to show restraint and find the poetry. Leading the commercial interiors team at Carr has enabled me to truly understand what it takes to grow and lead an incredible team (of whom I am very proud), generate work, ride the ebbs and flows of the economy, and deliver some beautiful design outcomes for wonderful clients, alongside a community of outstanding consultants, contractors and suppliers who I greatly respect.
