Candidates who appeared for the exams can check their results on the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. Next Steps for Qualified Candidates Successful candidates from the preliminary examinations will advance to the next critical phase: the UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024, followed by the Interview or Personality Test round. The UPSC stated, “The candidature of these candidates is provisional. In accordance with the Rules of the Examination, all these candidates have to apply again in the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024. The dates and important instructions for filling up of the DAF-I and its submission will be announced in due course on the website of the Commission.” Examination Details and Qualification Criteria The UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2024, held on June 16 across various exam centers nationwide, consisted of two objective-type papers (multiple-choice questions) with a maximum of 400 marks. To qualify for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, candidates needed to score a minimum of 33% in General Studies Paper-II and meet the total qualifying marks in General Studies Paper-I. Vacancies and Reservations The UPSC Civil Services 2024 examination aims to fill 1,056 vacancies across central government services and departments, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Of these vacancies, 40 are reserved for candidates in the Persons with Benchmark Disability category. Steps to Download UPSC CSE Prelims Results 2024 Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. IMO, there is an imperative need to revamp this British era system of selection for Civil Services. Shouldn’t we select the deserving candidates at Plus 2 level through a common All India examination like the ones for IITs/ NDA? That must also have additional papers / tests on Aptitude Test and Psychological Test (Word Apperception/ Thematic Apperception/ Group Discussion/ Commnad Task to gauge leadership ability etc. in line with tests at SSBs) to assess administrative acumen of the candidate. The selection of the candidates should be followed with 3 years academics at a college like the one at Khadakwasla for NDA cadets with focus on Law, governance and international relations. Thereafter 2 years at LABASA, IPA, NADT etc for specialist knowledge. This will prove to be the best for the bureaucracy of Bharat. What is your view ? Union Public Service Commission( UPSC )
