🚀 Why Chartered Flights Are More Valuable Than Ever in Today's Logistics World 🚀 I've seen firsthand how current trends and challenges in logistics are making chartered flights an increasingly valuable option. Here are a few reasons why: Supply Chain Disruptions: With ongoing global supply chain issues causing delays, chartered flights offer a faster, more reliable alternative to congested sea and land routes. Geopolitical Tensions: In times of political instability and conflict, chartered flights provide a secure way to avoid disrupted shipping routes and ensure timely deliveries. E-commerce Boom: The growth of e-commerce means higher demand for rapid shipping solutions. Chartered flights can meet this demand, especially during peak seasons. Air Freight Rate Volatility: Despite recent drops in air freight rates, the need for dependable logistics solutions remains. Chartered flights offer predictable costs and dedicated services. Urgent Shipments: For industries with high-value or time-sensitive goods like pharmaceuticals, electronics, and perishables, chartered flights are essential for secure and direct routes. Limited Commercial Flight Availability: Reduced commercial flight schedules have limited available cargo space. Chartered flights fill this gap with dedicated cargo services. Access to Remote Locations: Chartered flights provide direct and efficient routes to destinations not well-served by commercial airlines, ideal for remote or less accessible locations. Customized Solutions: With chartered flights, companies can tailor routes, schedules, and handling procedures to their specific needs, gaining better control over their supply chains. In this rapidly evolving logistics landscape, flexibility and reliability are key. Chartered flights are meeting these needs head-on, providing critical solutions for businesses around the world. #AirCharterService #Logistics #SupplyChain #Ecommerce #Freight #AirCargo #CharteredFlights #LogisticsSolutions #SupplyChainManagement Let's connect and discuss how chartered flights can support your logistics needs! ✈️💼

Air cargo demand is poised for growth for airlines & freighter companies able to handle a big influx of e-commerce volume, per experts at last week's IATA World Cargo Symposium. The three factors that drive air cargo demand: container shipping performance, consumer demand and the need to de-risk supply chains. On container shipping, Niall van de Wouw, Xeneta CAO, said that shippers constantly assess whether they can “trust” ocean carriers enough to put goods on the water relative to moving by them by air. “They will only use air if they must, and will use ocean if they can,” he explained. At the moment, #oceanfreight #reliability is under pressure due to the Red Sea crisis, which benefits #aircargo. Another driver of air cargo demand is consumer behavior. Here there is both good and bad news or air cargo, he said. On the positive side, e-commerce is rapidly on the rise and fueling air cargo demand. He pointed out that 18 months ago no one had heard of fast-growing e-commerce firm Temu and now it is one of the biggest users of air cargo in the world. “Clearly e-commerce is a phenomenon. At Cathay Cargo, 50-60% of our business is e-commerce which is up from about 30% not so long ago.", said Tom Owen, director of cargo, Cathay Cargo #supplychains #logistics #airfreight #containershipping #data #insights International Air Transport Association (IATA)
Speaking at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) World Cargo Symposium this week, Xeneta chief airfreight officer Niall van de Wouw identified three factors that drive air cargo demand: > Container shipping performance, > Consumer demand, > The need to de-risk supply chains. 💥💥 The demand for electronics is growing! Lufthansa Cargo adds new Chinese cargo flights. Lufthansa Cargo is continuing to adjust its cargo network by adding two new destinations in China in order to capitalize on the growing demand for e-commerce. This Frankfurt based airline announced today that it will increase Boeing 777 freighter flights to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX) and Zhengzhou (CGO). SZX flights will operate twice a week, while flights to CGO will operate three times a week. The company is expected to receive the latest 777F aircraft in the coming months. Both airports are new destinations, bringing the airline's total number of destinations in the Asia Pacific region to 19, with 47 flights per week. The CEO of the airline, Ashwin Bhat, stated that the new flights will take advantage of the recent growth in e-commerce demand. He said, "In the Chinese market, especially in the e-commerce business sector, we are steadily growing, and we continue to see high demand, especially for Europe Therefore, more air freight capacity is needed to transport goods quickly, compliantly, and safely. With the expansion of our Asian network, we can now provide more important freight destinations for our customers in China. Thanks to the new 777F freighter, this will be possible and we expect to receive it this summer. This not only means providing global business to our customers in a sustainable way, but also means growing and expanding as a company in an important freight region Lufthansa received its latest 777 freighter in December last year, and the aircraft to be delivered this summer is the last undelivered freighter order signed between the company and Boeing for this model. According to its website, the airline currently operates 17777 cargo planes and four Airbus A321Fs. These new flights were launched shortly after the airline announced new destinations in North America. On June 3rd, this freight operator launched a Boeing 777 freighter service to Monterrey, Mexico. The service rotates from Frankfurt (FRA) to Mexico City (NLU), then continues to Monterey International Airport (MTY), and then returns to Frankfurt. The flight will operate on Monday, and Lufthansa believes that car suppliers, electronics suppliers, and customers transporting medical products will be interested in this service. Lufthansa Cargo has also expanded its belly network to North America this summer through its sister airline's summer timetable.

Visibly Better is what we live for in Cargo iQ - and better visibility is open to all, whether you have a global network or are a regional specialist freight forwarder
🚀 Democratizing Airport-to-Airport Shipment Transparency: Introducing Cargo iQ’s SME Solution 🚀 Since its inception four years ago, the “SME Solution” by Cargo iQ has been working together with small and medium-sized industry players engaging in the airport-to-airport shipment monitoring process with member airlines. 📦 What is the SME Solution? The SME Solution bridges gaps in the air cargo industry, empowering small and medium-sized forwarders to seamlessly monitor their shipments. With early adoption of the standards by Riege Software and Cargo Start, this innovative solution offers real-time visibility, planning, and control for individual consignments along the airport-to-airport journey. The added value can be achieved through fees based on size of operation or on per-AirWayBill basis. 🌐 Why is it relevant? With small and mid-sized companies constituting roughly 80% of the global forwarding community, their active participation is vital to achieving Cargo iQ’s mission: elevating quality standards in air cargo operations. The SME Solution ensures that these forwarders, who may not be directly involved in carrier performance management, receive accurate and timely information about their shipments. These forwarders are able to receive milestone and KPI updates against bilaterally agreed or default offsets, depending on the model chosen. 🗺️ Key Features: Route Map Planning: Forwarders gain access to detailed route maps, enabling efficient planning and informed decision-making. Milestone Visibility: Real-time updates on shipment milestones empower forwarders to proactively manage their cargo. 🌟 Success Stories: Leading companies such as Alltrans Worldwide Logistics, Alisped International Forwarding, Sogedim Transporti e Logistica, Thruex International Forwarding Agent, Unitransports, and Vector, International Forwarding Agents have already embraced the SME Solution, streamlining their operations and enhancing customer satisfaction. 🚚 Join the Movement: As we continue to transform visibility and empower forwarders, Cargo iQ invites all industry players to explore the SME Solution. Come meet us at the 5 Star Logistics Network conference in Bangkok from 07th to 10th. March 2024 , where Lothar Moehle and Megha Palkar will be available to tell us more about our “SME Solution” and answer any questions regarding Cargo iQ. Container ship traffic through the mouth of the Red Sea in the first week of January was down 90% compared to last year. 📉🚢 This directly correlates with a spike in #airfreight as shippers turn to aviation in order to alleviate disruptions and delays caused by the crisis in the #redsea. This article from the Financial Times illuminates the different options open to shippers - including highlighting the trend towards 'sea-air', whereby goods move by sea to an airfreight hub, to be flown onwards. It's clear that the flexibility afforded by open access online booking marketplaces, such as CargoBooking, will be critical in facilitating these journeys.
