The international nature of our team was reflected in the photos shared recently as part of our charity walking challenge. From Texas, to San Francisco Bay, to castles in England and France, our teams are hitting the trail to help accumulate 11 million steps! In association for a fourth time with 'Walk with You', our colleagues will contribute as many steps as possible and complete a 5664 mile/9115km course. The course follows much of the Olympic torch route from Olympia in Greece to the Stade de France in Paris. At each Olympic torch landmark we reach, we will be donating to Make-A-Wish International. The team at Nu Image Ltd are soon to take part in a 24hr cycle, outside the front of our Norwich studio to raise much needed funds for Endometriosis UK - in short we would love your support. So please... 1. 💷 Donate here - https://lnkd.in/eEQpfTCA 2. 🚲 Come and join in, using our guest bike 3. 💌 Share this post Or secure the hat-trick and go for all three. _______ If you are interested in why the guys have picked this charity in particular, here is some insight into my story... I have suffered with Endometriosis for many years now, and to be frank it sucks. It slows up my ability to function fully day to day, both physically and mentally. For the most part, I tend to keep it under wraps and tucked away from my professional life, just like many other woman who are also dealing with it. I was told that the team at Nu would be undertaking this challenge, after they had already secretly organised it…I'm looking at you Ian Howes, likely because they thought I would stop them doing it for me. I was touched that they were so committed to support me (love them), and the cause BUT I won’t be stopping them because this isn’t just about me. It is WAY bigger than that. As a condition Endometriosis is rarely talked about and diagnosis times are unacceptably high. I waited around 6 years to be diagnosed, by which time I was carrying around several large cysts on my ovaries, one the size of a tennis ball, despite raising Endo as a possibility during assessments more than once, as my mum also suffered from it. I have undergone major surgery and still the condition continues to grow, even as far as my diaphragm, meaning I have more surgery to come, with higher risks this time. Unfortunately, that’s a frustratingly common outcome, with the average diagnosis time being 8 years. Often by the time patients are offered help, the extent of the spread can be impossible to reverse. Endometriosis is debilitating, it is responsible for chronic pain and fatigue, depression and brain fog (very frustrating when you are trying to run a business!). It can also leave you with a difficulty/ inability to conceive, and yet is still not being taken as seriously as it deserves to be. Woman deserve more than this. Please donate and share if you can. Thank you.

I completely agree that it's too common for large organisations in the charity sector to take over contracts from small, community-led groups. This undermines the unique value these smaller organisations, driven by lived experience, bring. It's time for the government and stakeholders to recognise their importance and provide them with more leadership and representation opportunities. These grassroots organisations do the hard work and achieve the results, yet larger entities often take the credit and financial gains. Supporting and empowering small, lived experience organisations is crucial for fostering genuine community engagement and impactful services.
Today I heard yet another story of a large charity parachuting in and taking the contract of a small, local, user and community led charity. When will public services recognise the value of smaller, people centred and user led organisations and not just number on a piece of paper. I see this ever day in my work, but today has been particularly difficult to hear. Some may disagree with me but the system is very broken.
