As a company, we strongly promote the protection and development of young people through our iM Global Partner Donations Fund. Closer to home, we are highly committed to supporting young people as they develop their careers and gain a first foothold in their chosen specialisms. We are therefore delighted to welcome our latest trainees: Our apprentices: Jaymie Clark, who is working in London in our HR team as part of the UK Apprenticeship scheme, and Ani Beglaryan who, after a 4-month student exchange, rejoins our Marketing team in Paris for the remainder of her French apprenticeship. Our US summer interns: Nathan Ehrenberger who is supporting our Wealth Management business while based in Walnut Creek, and Brady Tepstein and Ella Sharron who are both supporting our US Distribution team out of our El Segundo office. Our European interns: Pierre Puyo and Ezra Milhaud, who respectively support our Research & Investment team and Finance team, both based in Paris and last but not least, Amenhotep Cousins, who is completing a 10-week work experience placement with our Finance team in London as part of his T-Level Accountancy qualification. We look forward to the insights that our trainees will gain, and also bring, during their time with us. #apprenticeships #internships #PeoplePerformance

AGECAG Inc. – Against unpaid internships Did you know that most college and university interns, around 84 percent to be precise, remain unpaid for their work? Of this high percentage, 72 percent are women. These internships are typically conditional on graduation, and the intern is required to perform tasks that are similar to those of an employee. Even though it is labelled as an apprenticeship, the intern often ends up replacing an employee, especially in areas facing a labour shortage. As living expenses are skyrocketing, financial instability is becoming a major concern to those interns. For students who support themselves, it is nearly impossible to juggle internships, which can last up to 40 hours a week, courses, and part-time work without sacrificing their mental and physical health. Seeing this issue, my students' association collected hundreds of signatures to make this issue heard at the National Assembly of Québec. We are strongly hoping to see a positive change soon!

🌏 In an increasingly connected world, preparing our students to graduate and enter the workforce with a global outlook and understanding of cultures beyond their own is more important than ever. 📂 We’re thrilled to share that EdOdyssey President & Founder Peter M. McGovern will be a panelist at the Employability Plenary during this month’s International Internship Conference in Dublin. 🎓 The theme of the plenary: “Cultivating Global Professionals: Exploring Key Factors in Post Graduation Employability.” 🧭 Facilitated by Dr. Maureen Manning from The PIE—and including Jon Stauff (South Dakota State University), Thomas Kelley (Cleveland State Global), and Karina Ramji (University of Victoria)—the panel delves into the complex world of employability, in particular looking at how internships, study abroad programs, and internationalization on home campuses play a role in shaping graduates into globally competitive professionals. 🏫 They’ll be sharing case studies of what this can look like in K12 & at university…and why it matters. 🇮🇪 Learn more about the 2024 International Internship Conference here: https://buff.ly/4baDlcO #iicdublin2024

Highly experienced, energetic and enthusiastic Supported Employment trainer. Passionate about passing on knowledge to other practitioners and supporting businesses to embrace a more inclusive and diverse workforce
Catching up with our delegates! This morning on a very hot day myself and my TSI co-trainer and master of the back of house Ben Carne had the pleasure of running a follow up session to find out how this wonderful group of Job Coaches have been getting on since we spent a week together at the start of June. TSI is a method for teaching people tasks in a structured way and is predominantly used by Job Coaches when assisting people with additional support requirements into work. Here were the takeaways - 1) All of them have changed the way they support people 2) All of them realised when training people, less is sometimes more 3) All of said we should never underestimate people's capabilities We also heard how people have used TSI in other aspects of their lives from teaching their partners to do practical tasks around the house, to adapting the method when to teach people how to swim. The best bit about today was hearing about how each and every one of them have managed to covert Supported Internships into paid employment because at the end of the day work gives us so much than just financial remuneration, it gives us equality. If the income account of the people (who do not want to discuss about crediting the income account of the Monash interns with the host companies because it makes their work less lousy) at Monash gets credited while the income account of the interns do not get credited during the internship, the damage can only be recovered by debiting (through the interns’ perspective) the current assets account through the same people (including the people who work at Monash and the host companies).
