Today is an important day in history, especially for those in the field of Physics.Today Mother Nature gave birth to an incredible person who goes by the name Richard Feynman. ~Richard Phillips Feynman was an American theoretical physicist, known for his work in the path integral formulation of quantum mechanics, the theory of quantum electrodynamics. ~For his contributions to the development of quantum electrodynamics, Feynman received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965 ~Apart from being a great physicist he also was one of the best teachers of the 20th century. ~His lectures in Physics at Caltech are compiled in 3 Volumes of textbooks known as Feynman Lectures in Physics, which gives very good illustrations for every physics concept and simplifies them so easily and loveable to read. ~Despite being so great he insisted himself to be an ordinary human being.

"The first in a series of papers entitled: 'The Origin of Mass & The Nature of Gravity' explains how the mass of the proton emerges directly from the quantum vacuum fluctuations, through a double shielding process that screens the quantum vacuum fluctuations in two stages, from the Planck energy density to the proton's rest mass, passing through its black hole mass (yes, you read that right, a black hole proton!)." Lamb Public Lecture 2024 - 6 March - 5pm to 8pm GMT - In person event The Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics at Oxford is hosting its second annual series of Willis Lamb Lecutres in Theoretical Physics. Willis E. Lamb Jr, Nobel Prize in Physics 1955, was Wykeham Professor at Oxford from 1956-1962. For this series, we are delighted to welcome Professor Herman Verlinde from Princeton University as our guest lecturer, his talk will be: 'Quantum information, chaos, and space-time' Quantum gravity aims to find a description of spacetime and gravity that obeys the rules of quantum mechanics. Advancing this quest requires unravelling some long-standing puzzles, most notably the black hole information paradox. Recent investigations of this question have uncovered deep connections between quantum systems that exhibit maximal chaos and spacetimes with event horizons such as black holes and our expanding universe.
