What if you could give NDSU researchers the time to pursue the game-changing ideas that get that Nobel Prize? Help to catapult NDSU into the upper echelon of R1 research institutions this #NDSUGivingDay through the Transformative Research Leaders Fund in the Office of Research and Creative Activity. It funds the gift of time. Consider the NDSU football program, with long-term success from time, training, and strengthening. That has been a tremendous recipe for victory. The same recipe for victory is needed for research success: – time, training and strengthening. Premier R1 research institutions support faculty with research time so they can recruit and retain the very best researchers. And that’s what we’re asking you to support this #GivingDay, to catapult NDSU into the upper echelon of R1 research institutions. 【Research on sports science and technology to make sports safe, interesting and rewarding for all】 Sports have the ability to transcend boundaries and improve human health and well-being, but with the help of science and technology, the impact of sports can be even greater. Sports science and technology not only help optimise athletes’ performance in competitions while mitigating the risk of injury, but also address major concerns of public health as well as enabling all people to engage in sports. Drawing upon its interdisciplinary expertise to support sports development, PolyU established the Research Institute for Sports Science and Technology (RISports PolyU) as a constituent research unit of the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR) in June 2022. ...... Really impressive to see the GILE Journal of Skills Development (GJSD) meet the 7 criteria to receive the DOAJ Seal, all in just 3 years since the journal's foundation. Congratulations to the Editor in Chief, Professor Judit Beke for her leadership and to the wider team that have helped to shape the journal into a valuable contribution to the fields of education and career development. One of the barriers to equality of open access can be the need to pay an Article Processing Charge (which can often be more than £1,500). Another barrier to equality is that some institutions have agreements to waive/cover such fees but only for staff of their institutions (not visitors or anyone else). This gives certain researchers an unfair advantage leading to increased views and citations of their work purely because of their affiliation and employment status. GJSD overcomes this inequality by publishing everything open access with no Article Processing Charge for anyone. It's still double-blind peer reviewed so you can be assured of the quality of the works published. I now regularly publish work here instead of other journals because it enables my work to be open access instead of hidden behind a pay wall. It's another reason I encourage people to judge publications on their own merit rather than using journal rankings as a proxy (given even different ranking systems cannot agree on the rank of the same journal due to home field advantage). The call for papers for the Spring edition of the journal is now live. We look forward to receiving your submissions. Associate Professor William E. Donald Current Honary Advisor Former Managing Editor of GJSD.
I am proud and OVERJOYED to inform you that GJSD has been awarded the prestigious DOAJ Seal! 🏆 ✨ What an incredible achievement for our community! ✨ The DOAJ Seal is a symbol of excellence in open-access publishing, and it is granted to journals showcasing best practices. Did you know that only around 10% of DOAJ-indexed journals receive this honour? I'm soooo happy! Our heartfelt thanks to the entire GJSD community for contributing to this success. ✨ Let's celebrate this new success!
