⚽ SHARING THE LOVE OF FOOTBALL With the UEFA EURO 2024 coming up, bringing millions together, a story from our world: IFU has an equity stake in the Radisson Emerald Addis hotel in the business district of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. There is a residential and business area surrounding the hotel, and also a shanty town. The hotel supports the local community to the extent possible, especially the street children, who don’t have much happiness in their lives. However, they are great football fans and play as much as they can. So, in May, IFU’s board member, investment director Klaus Prebensen travelled to Ethiopia with a suitcase full of footballs and football jerseys, donated by IFU colleagues. It made some children very happy! 😊

💃🏽Dr. Lisa | Looking to optimize the lives of women who lead with love and bless the men that support our leadership, relationships and enterprise ideas. Top Voice Reframing the Hustle where science and spirit mix.
Would I give over $1M of my wealth to my home country? Uh yeah?! Not even a second thought. Infact, women are. All around you we reinvest up to 90% of our money to make up for the horrible government and corporate owners in bed together. Don’t like the villianizing in the story? Well then stop being one and support the one’s doing Millionare different. Why some women get offended being called A Woman CEO or Millionare is beyond me?! The title basically means: 👉🏻CEO making Gold out of a Pile of Bull$?!t 👉🏻Leader Living on A Prayer 👉🏻Highest Quality of Character 👉🏻 Best Team Forward Visionary 👉🏻The Big Heart at the Table Doubt it? Read the research. Specifically, women ( especially moms) reinvest up to 90% of their earnings, whereas men reinvest only 30-40% (1,2) This reinvestment by women is typically directed towards critical areas such as food, healthcare, home improvements, and education for themselves and their children. (3). But try to find a string of praise comments under my feed for this post. 🙄 ~~~~||||||||~~~~~~~ Here are the References for the non believers and the people in power I am looking to personally connect with who have money, position and energy to break out of the illusion women don’t have enough financial power to flip some tables in the temple today! If you were a world class footballer, would you give over $1m to your home country? This is exactly what Ex-Liverpool footballer, Sadio Mane has done, giving $1 million of his $14 million salary to his home village in Senegal. He’s built hospitals; petrol stations; schools; post offices; and has even give his entire village laptops & 4G connection. But it doesn’t stop there. He also gives $75 a month to everyone from the Bambali region, one of the poorest regions in Senegal, where the average salary is only $160 a month. During the pandemic, Mane also donated over $50,000 to the Senegalese government to help assist in COVID relief, again, out of his own salary. In a country where 75% of the population live in poverty, Sadio Mane’s donations go an incredibly long way and he alone is drastically improving the lives of thousands of Senegalese people. Mane summed up his philanthropy in 2019 by saying: "Why would I want 10 Ferraris, 20 diamond watches, or two planes? I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips and even planes. I prefer that my people receive a little of what life has given me.”” He’s an incredible example for all footballers, showing exactly how the incredibly privileged position can be used to improve society for all - especially back home at their roots. Sadio is a role model for all of us. We can all learn a little from him.

What fabulous progress is being made developing rugby league in West Africa.
The end of nearly 3 years work with Paul King, Paul Trainor, Remond Safi and the Salford Red Devils Rugby League Club sees a great move forward for the sport in Africa as Jafaru starts his role as a dedicated member of staff. The game has progressed a long way in Ghana since its inception just over a decade ago, and with Salford’s support we hope Rugby League continues to thrive in the nation whilst providing a talent system for young players. I’ll also be back out to Accra with the www.1jersey.co.uk project next month and will gladly take any spare kit and equipment donations and or support if available. There is still a way to go, but RL is steadily rising in West Africa and beyond 🇬🇭

🌐 Let's Score Big on Global Connectivity - We're on the hunt for several logistics companies to gather football shoes throughout Germany and transport them to Hamburg and one logistician for the transfer to Cape Town. Ready to make a winning play with Young Bafana Soccer and us? 🚚 Last year, we shared the inspiring work of Young Bafana. Young Bafana is a non-profit organization (NGO) dedicated since 2010 to the holistic development of children and youth from underprivileged backgrounds in South Africa through comprehensive football and educational programs. YB has a special mission: The goal is to collect 100,000 football shoes for children in South Africa, providing them with opportunities for physical activity and joy. ⚽👟 In Germany, an estimated 2.3 million football shoes are sold annually. Many are discarded after brief use, often ending up unused in our basements or storage rooms. Yet, for many children in South Africa, football shoes are an unreachable dream – a dream we can fulfill together. Here's how you can help: 1. Used football shoes are collected locally by clubs, youth academies, private households, and other supporters. From these various collection points, the shoes must be stored regionally and later transported to a central collection point in Hamburg. 2. From there, the football shoes are distributed to South Africa. Help is required for the transfer to Cape Town. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬? 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭; 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 Young Bafana Soccer. Let's unite to achieve #100KFÜRAFRIKA and bring smiles to the faces of children in South Africa! 😊🌍 #charity #100KFÜRAFRIKA #DIVIS #YoungBafana

MARATHON FUNDRAISER 🔵🌕 After running my first half-marathon in October 2023 with my team Run for Ukraine, I decided that the next race should definitely be a full marathon. So, in less than 3 weeks I will run my first 42km in Ghent. As always, it's a great opportunity to raise funds to help Ukraine, so I really hope you'll support this initiative by donating and sharing this fundraiser🫶🏻🇺🇦 All the money will go to the needs of my fellow Ukrainian Plast Scouts, fighting against the ruszian aggressor right now (the money will go to the Barvinok Charity Fund @help.ua.from.be). Thanks! https://lnkd.in/efNATKrz P.S. If you're wondering why you should support Ukraine and spend your money on it, in my opinion there are two main reasons: 1) It is morally right to help a country defending itself against an aggressor that occupies its territories, kills and tortures its people, deports thousands of children stealing them from their parents, threatens to destroy the entire nation and its culture. The world saw it happening in Ukraine for the last 2 years, the Ukrainians saw it for the last 10 years, and in reality moscow have been doing it for centuries. The only viable long-term solution is to stop the aggressor by depriving it from its means of aggression. That is what the Ukrainian Armed Forces are doing better than anybody else and that's why we need to support them. 2) If you value democracy, liberty, justice, and want to live in peace, it is in your interests to stop the ruszian imperialism in Ukraine before it spreads further in the world. Since the collapse of the USSR, ruszia have been regularly threatening and aggressing its neighbors, wishing to restore the former soviet empire. After successful occupations of the territories of Moldova, Chechnya and Georgia, ruszia invaded Ukraine. If it succeeds another time, its attack on other countries will only be a question of time, which will destabilize the international situation even more. So, if you do not wish to experience more effects of ruszian imperialism, you can help stop it in Ukraine. Slava Ukraїni!

The Football Foundation expects 2024 to be the “biggest ever year of support for grassroots clubs across #England”. One of the UK’s largest #sports charities, the organisation had a record-breaking year in 2023, during which it delivered £76 million to improve #grassroots facilities across England. It expects to exceed that figure in 2024, as it looks to hit a number of significant milestones. These include further openings of Football Foundation #PlayZones – multi-sport facilities looking to engage the four main groups facing the greatest inequalities: lower socio-economic groups; #women and #girls; ethnically diverse communities; and #disabled people and people with long-term #healthconditions. Robert Sullivan, CEO of the Football Foundation, said the organisation will provide "more great places to play than ever before" over the next 12 months.
