The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has received seven applications to participate in the auction for the offshore wind project area in Sørlige Nordsjø II. The ministry will now begin the process of evaluating the applications. "Despite significant cost increases in the global offshore wind industry recently, several strong players are applying to participate in the auction round for Southern North Sea II. This is important for the government's offshore wind efforts. We are now commencing the assessment of the various applications," says Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Terje Aasland. According to the announcement documents, the ministry will prequalify a minimum of six and a maximum of eight applicants. If fewer than six applicants can be prequalified, the ministry will consider whether the auction should proceed. In the application, the applicant must demonstrate compliance with the minimum sustainability criteria and positive spin-off effects. Furthermore, the applicant will be assessed on the prequalification criterion of implementation capability. The ministry will publicly announce the qualified applicants to participate in the auction as soon as possible. The tentative auction date is February 2024. Energy Industry Publisher AND Supply & Service Company - One-Stop Shop for Energy solutions in a dynamic world. We offer Communications, Publishing, Marketing, Safety Training, and Mental Health Community Support.
By far the most historically pivotal time in our economy to date. Wind Hydrogen and Ammonia will be globally sought-after, hot commodities, serving world energy demand. Newfoundland's abundance of water, wind, and land makes this great island one of the most important places on earth over the next decade when it comes to clean energy. We've won the lottery and don't even know it. $Billions of major contracts, supply contracts, jobs, and service industry spin-offs, will come from wind energy in the province. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and a well-established energy carrier. It has significant potential in a net zero economy as it can be used in transport, heat, power, and energy storage with no greenhouse gas emissions at the point of use. Ammonia, a compound of hydrogen and nitrogen, is also a powerful zero-carbon fuel. Being the source of this energy is an unprecedented opportunity. We will build it as we did the offshore. It will be lucrative for anyone who steps up to the task of supply and services. We are so excited to be a part of this! Your only question right now is....Where's your piece of the pie?
If you support Project Nujio’qonik, and the launch of a new #greenenergy industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, please take a minute to send an email to our provincial government expressing your thoughts. The comment period closes on October 11. The email address is: [email protected]

USV Regulatory Compliance Officer | Chief Mate II/2 | RNLI Volunteer Crew | Experienced Maritime Professional
We’ve done it again! 🎉 We’ve successfully completed another fully remote offshore survey inspection in the North Sea for TAQA Group. Building on our achievements from last year, we deployed our advanced Blue Essence® USV and Blue Volta® eROV to fulfil their inspection requirements. This time, we inspected five platforms and 140 km of pipeline off the coast of the Netherlands🌊 Ennery Léon, Integrity Lead Upstream from TAQA Group: “We are very pleased to have successfully concluded another uncrewed inspection round in cooperation with Fugro, using this innovative approach. Deploying this best-in-class technology reflects our commitment to maintaining safety, and operational performance of our assets, and provides higher quality of pipeline data, that allows for enhanced safety and efficiency standards at our offshore sites.” With a 95 % reduction in carbon emissions and access to real-time data, we believe USVs are the future of marine operations, bringing more sustainability and safety to the energy industry. We remain dedicated to driving innovation, pushing the boundaries of what's possible, and delivering exceptional value to our clients. Well monitoring
🌐 Exploring Future Possibilities in Well Monitoring 🛢️🔍 Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Nina Ringøen, Vebjørn Nygaard, and Ola Heia from Havtil. A productive discussion unfolded on leveraging Iconic's wireless acoustic technology for verifying and monitoring barriers in wells. Looking ahead, we delved into the evolving requirements for monitoring both temporarily abandoned and permanently plugged wells. Iconic takes pride in pioneering technology that enables remote monitoring of dry and subsea applications, aligning with upcoming regulations. The forthcoming regulations emphasize the need for overpressure monitoring during temporary plug and abandonment, coupled with annual inspections to detect potential leaks, aligning with NORSOK D-10 Standard. Iconic's Digital Transponder offers a secure means to monitor barrier integrity for up to 10 years in temporarily suspended wells. Exciting collaborations lie ahead as we anticipate joining Havtil at their Technical Seminar on May 7th. Stay tuned for more updates, and don't forget to secure your spot by signing up! 📆🔗 #WellMonitoring #WirelessTechnology #InnovationLeadership #FutureEnergy
