The 'Climate Change Refresher Training for Home-Based Workers in Nepal' has been successfully completed. Organized by HomeNet South Asia (HNSA), Saathi, Women for Human Rights (WHR), and Mahila Housing Trust (MHT), this three-day training program in Kathmandu emphasized the need for community action and government intervention to address the effects of climate change on women working in the informal sector. Te Whāngai Trust do incredible work, using nature-based jobs to improve social wellbeing. Auckland University of Technology is proud to partner with Te Whāngai on one of our Living Laboratories sites, which we hope in time can strengthen the #restorationeconomy, a distinct economic sector that creates long-term public value through its social and environmental benefits. When NatureScot undertook its 2019 analysis of #naturebasedjobs in Scotland, it conservatively estimated about 195,000 jobs or 7.5% of Scotland’s workforce. Furthermore, nature-based jobs grew at more than five times the rate of all jobs in Scotland in the period 2015–19, accounting for one-third of all job growth in Scotland in this period.
