Small steps, but great to see that Neste MY Renewable Diesel has supported Cleanaway Waste Management avoid the emission of 37t CO2, so far (compared to fossil diesel) in two Cleanaway heavy vehicles. #Lowcarbonliquidfuel policies proposed by the Australian Government in the 2024 budget could result in much more #GHG emission reductions with the use of #renewable fuels.
Cleanaway is now halfway through our demonstration of HVO100 renewable diesel in two trucks, with fantastic results. So far we’re seeing equivalent or better fuel consumption, uptime and performance compared to fossil diesel with 37 t CO2 emissions avoided. We’ve also had the benefits recognised by customers, employees, and industry stakeholders with enthusiasm for a roll out of low carbon liquid fuels at larger scale. This article looks at the results of the demonstration so far and how that can contribute to supportive policies. Today's #TravelTuesday sees Energy Global jetting off to the USA. Today we travel to the US. Here, Cincinnati-based Synthica Energy, LLC, St. Bernard, has developed a renewable energy solution that will take more than 500 t of food waste every day and turn it into enough energy to power thousands of homes while removing thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide and methane from the atmosphere. The facility will be using an anaerobic digester to sustainably dispose of waste and create a renewable natural gas energy source. This technology has previously been used in farms to process animal waste, though as the technology has evolved, advanced storage, odour control, and pre-treatment options have become available that allow the digesters to become compatible with urban areas. You can read the rest of the news story on our website: https://bit.ly/3OimSJm To keep up to date with technology developments in the renewables industry, make sure to register for a free trial of Energy Global here: https://bit.ly/3NwDhus #traveltuesday #EG #renewables #energy #sustainable #renewablenaturalgas
