Over 220 million children worldwide have had their schooling negatively impacted or stopped amidst local political or social conflict. Explore how we supported the EU and partners to produce a campaign called "Education No Matter What" to demonstrate why education is a fundamental right and must not be interrupted, no matter how serious the crisis. https://okt.to/6rykJ2

Happy International Education Day! Today, we celebrate the people around the world working for universal education access. Currently, more than 250 million children and adolescents are out of school. For these young people, the loss of education represents the loss of opportunities - to develop necessary skills, determine their future, and break the cycle of poverty in their families. Across the developing world, multiple factors keep children from attending school - but for kids in water-stressed communities, the main barrier to finishing their education is often a lack of safe water access at school and at home. Children, especially girls, frequently shoulder the burden of collecting water for their families. In areas where water is scarce, this task can take hours out of every day, causing kids to be absent and miss vital lessons at school. Meanwhile, lack of running water in schools leaves children and teachers alike more vulnerable to the spread of diseases, endangering young people's health and causing them to fall behind in their education. H2O4ALL is dedicated to helping the next generation in our client communities build a brighter future for themselves and their families. To this end, it is vital to break down barriers to education wherever we find them. By implementing safe water systems in schools, we ensure that children in water-stressed communities can stay in school and reach their full potential. #safewater #safewaterforall #water #waterislife #education #school #internationaleducationday

A new research report from Catholic Schools NSW demonstrates that non-government schools save governments at least $4.59 billion each year in recurrent funding. This research makes a critical contribution to the discussion on school funding. It highlights that the mixed model of school provision in Australia is a strength of the current education policy landscape, supporting parental choice while realising the enormous financial and educational value brought by a commitment to our sector. You can read the research report here: https://lnkd.in/eTA2n9kR

Human need doesn’t really change that much - What if we reimagined our public (citizen?) services based around Maslow? It’s always made sense to me that public service needs to be based on the deficiency needs. To keep us safe, fed and connected and build self esteem. Education is a growth need - instead of focusing on passing exams to build esteem - what if we based our educational needs on how we build a society with these basic needs fulfilled as citizens, in other words how we care for ourselves and each other first? Our basic citizenship education seems to get lost in the scramble for self actualisation. If we have a higher status in society through money or power, then this education would increase - how do we help others get there? Our public systems would have a collective purpose, a reason to work together for citizen actualisation. It’s just a wild thought 💭 #wildthoughts

When we talk about the need for more educational options it's fair to ask why we need them. I give a few data points in the clip below. Simply put, the state of education in the U.S. is underwhelming. #education #schoolchoice
Why do families need education freedom so urgently? Shaka Mitchell breaks down the general state of education as measured by NAEP scores to show how badly students need school choice options. #SchoolChoice #SchoolChoiceNow
