Three more weeks to go until the big race! It hasn't been easy with life's challenges, but I'm excited to keep pushing forward. How do I maintain my motivation and desire to keep going? One day, one hour at a time. Here are a few things I do regularly to stay focused: 1. Journaling: keeping track of my feelings and thoughts. 2. Calendar: noting the most important things that need to happen. 3. Meditation: starting every day with a 10-minute meditation/affirmation to give me energy and clarity to go through my busy day. 4. Exercise: trying not to skip my marathon training schedule. 5. Make sleep a priority: winding down and recovery is key for a clear mind and body. I believe that I can become what I believe! And that's why I'm supporting Wildflower charity, which provides an opportunity and support for kids that need to feel loved and appreciated. Join me in supporting Wildflower. Wednesday 31st January marked the end of our Wild & Free Dip a Day Campaign 2024, where together with some strong minded members of our Wild Tribe, we dipped a day for 31 days in the sea, lakes or an ice bath to help our own wellbeing, and at the same time to raise money for our 3 amazing charities, Pieta Samaritans and AWARE NI who will equally gain from our fundraising efforts. Wild & Free will donate £5 for every single dip that took place where the person posted, and then all of our wider community have all been giving what they can to ensure that we can support these wonderful charities as much as possible. We learned so much personally, as a community and as a busines through our challenge that we will take into 2024: 1: We can do hard things 2: Pain and Difficult feelings will pass 2: We can make new habits by making them non negotiables in our daily routines 3: The power of your tribe and community makes you unstoppable 4: Cold Water Immersion is like a surge of energy and dopamine that truly powers your day. 5: Cold Water immersion certainly kept sickness at bay for those who dipped daily, in a month when it was hard to avoid 6: Starting the day in nature, embracing the elements is like a mindfulness, grounding and cold water therapy session all rolled into one, so powerful - We may not keep dipping every day, but we will certainly try to dip most days, as the benefits are too significant not to. 7: Doing something for a purpose, a greater good needs to be there to keep the discipline up when the motivation is not there, which when we met Storm Isha and Jocelyn and the snow and ice, was needed, believe me. If people would only realise that mental health services and charities are the link to all the other charities and can support them all, and also increase the others successes… for example, many mental health sufferers struggle to maintain routine and clean their teeth… no amount of education will change that, mental health support however, can… The other charities you could vote for, when they occur and are bad, often the majority need mental health support for them and their families to cope… which also further increases the odds of successful treatments and surgeries… while also increasing the standard of mental aftercare! But mental health services also aid in people becoming healthier, more active and less likely to contract the issues other charities support… thus aiding in prevention and causing the other charities to have less strain on them and need less resources to have great success… The brain, is the most important aspect of the body… it doesn’t just retain information… it also promotes or demotes physical health, decision making and ability to cope with stress and daily life…

Charity is important to us at Cape Cove. As founders and as a brand, we want to see the world become a happier place through showing support and care to both our people and our planet. 
At Cape Cove we support the great work of Family Holiday Charity, helping families get time away together, often for the first time ever. Last weekend we had the joy of donating 10% of our turnover at our Salcombe pop up to the Family Holiday charity. 
The charity is for children of families who have never seen the sea. It’s for teenagers who can’t remember when they last saw their mum smile, and for parents having to choose between a day out and a new pair of school shoes. It’s for young carers, kinship carers and families facing illness isolation and bereavement.  Holidays open up new possibilities. Time to reconnect, try new things and make happy memories together. Running, playing, climbing trees and flying kites. Time for picnics and bare feet. Sharing a laugh and watching the tide come in. Buckets, spades and sandy sandwiches.  Family Holiday Charity finds out what each family needs and takes care of all the details. That way families can take care of the most important thing - each other.  Families choose the holiday they need. It could be a caravan on the coast, a woodland adventure or a day out at a theme park, museum or farm. And whatever the weather, it means time spent together. Even just a day’s holiday helps build relationships, confidence and hope for the future.
