At ISEE 2024, there’s been quite some talk about resistance to change and how to deal with it. We realised that we spend so much time developing cool solutions, but they hit a wall at implementation. People either oppose it or they simply don’t use it. One of our clients, having successfully navigated this matter, offered one piece of advice: get the users involved from the very beginning. The most effective form of persuasion is building the solution together with them and training them as you go, NOT building the solution and then trying to convince them to use it. It’s that simple, yet surprisingly uncommon. Resistance to change is a big challenge in digital transformation. There are several reasons for it, but also several solutions.
