Austria's largest regional transport operator, Wiener Linien, has been operating a Hyundai ELEC CITY Fuel Cell bus since last year. With just 10 to 15 minutes of refueling time, this hydrogen-powered bus easily travels the mountainous roads of Vienna for up to 550 kilometers on a single charge. As part of the Austrian government's HyBus Project, another ELEC CITY Fuel Cell is currently operating in the Graz region. Our customers believe hydrogen will be a real game-changer in our daily lives. Check out how Hyundai’s hydrogen-powered vehicles are contributing to decarbonization! #Hyundai #ElecCityFuelCell #Hydrogen #ZeroEmission #Austria

This winter weather has got me looking up winter roadtrips ❄️. And of course, I think one of the best ways to get around is with a hydrogen car. Whenever I stop at a refilling station it's always interesting to look around and see how many other #fuelcell vehicles are there. They're becoming a more and more common sight on the roads – but how far away are we from a #future where hydrogen is the main way we get around? 👀 To find out, check out this interview with Albert Biermann from Hyundai Motor Group in Discovering Hydrogen 👉 https://bit.ly/3zFR1e9 #mobility #greentech #hydrogen #sustainability

The #Hydrogen #Hype: Unmasking the #Myth in Passenger Cars 🚗💨 As a serial entrepreneur and sustainability expert, I've seen my fair share of "next big things" in the auto industry. But let's talk about one of the most baffling trends: the persistent push for hydrogen in passenger cars. It's time to challenge this narrative with some hard truths. #HydrogenHype #SustainableTransport Firstly, the efficiency story. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (#FCVs) are touted for their green credentials, but let's not forget the elephant in the room: energy efficiency. Converting electricity into hydrogen and back into electricity is like running a marathon with detours. Why not just use the electricity directly in battery electric vehicles (BEVs)? #EnergyEfficiency #BEVsVsFCVs Secondly, the infrastructure conundrum. Building a hydrogen refueling network is not just expensive; it's a logistical nightmare. Meanwhile, electric charging infrastructure is already expanding rapidly, making BEVs a more pragmatic choice. #InfrastructureBattle #RealisticSolutions Now, let's address the trust issue. Many OEMs and 'experts' still backing hydrogen for passenger cars often have vested interests. Perhaps they're too heavily invested in old technologies to pivot, or maybe they're playing the long game for grants and subsidies. Whatever the case, their narrative is less about sustainability and more about profitability. #FollowTheMoney #QuestionTheNarrative Lastly, the environmental impact. Hydrogen production is predominantly reliant on fossil fuels, particularly natural gas. This 'grey hydrogen' negates any environmental benefits. While 'green hydrogen' produced from renewable sources is ideal, it remains costly and scarce. #EnvironmentalImpact #GreenHydrogenMyth So, why the continued hydrogen story? Is it innovation or inertia? Are we witnessing a genuine pursuit of sustainable solutions, or a reluctance to let go of old paradigms? It's time we demand more transparency and accountability from those shaping the future of transportation. #InnovationOrInertia #DemandTransparency In conclusion, let's focus our energies and investments on technologies that offer real, immediate benefits for sustainable transportation. Electric vehicles are here, now, and improving rapidly. The hydrogen story in passenger cars, meanwhile, seems more like a distracting sideshow than a viable solution. #FocusOnTheFuture #ElectricVehiclesNow 🌍💡 Let's drive the conversation towards practical, sustainable solutions, not just appealing narratives. Challenge the status quo. Demand better. #SustainabilityFirst #ChallengeTheStatusQuo What do you think? Is #hydrogen the future, or a #diversion from more viable solutions? Drop your thoughts below! ⚡🚗💭 #JoinTheDebate #FutureOfTransport

1moInteresting to know how much this journey costs. 600km on 10kg? It’s all about £ or € per km as this hits us all in the pocket one way or another.
