Wow. The last 3 years have been quite the journey. It all started with a simple vision: a collaboration platform for digital artists built by digital artists. As a software engineer, I've had the luxury to rely on many tailor-made solutions built specifically for my persona. As an artist, I’ve never really had that luxury outside of the content creation tools themselves. That’s why we are building THE platform for digital artists. We’ve spent the last 3 years in alpha/beta, working with thousands of artists and hundreds of studios to get mudstack to its v1 launch. This could not have happened without all the support we’ve received. To Sanjay Mistry: Since I called you in July 2020, you've championed our cause around the world. You continuously open doors and put your reputation on the line. I look forward to continuing to work together to revolutionize the industry. To Brett Bibby & Pablo Santos Luaces: Thanks for meeting with us way back when we were a barely functioning prototype. You believed our vision was inevitable. That belief helped drive Nachi and I to sacrifice everything for mudstack. To David Lau-Kee: You took the time to challenge our vision. You shared invaluable insight from your direct experiences, and your encouragement to get out there and build made a real lasting impact on us. To Jonathan Lai, James Gwertzman, and Jack Soslow: Thank you for believing in our vision and lighting a fire under us to manifest our vision as reality. To Jonathan Lloyd and the team at CGHero: Thank you for the passion you have for our shared vision. We look forward to every opportunity to realize our collective dreams. To Todd Arfman: Every 1-on-1 you've dedicated has helped us level up. To Sean Henry: Both 1-on-1 and by example, you've been such an inspiration. To the teams at Synty Studios, VR Vision, Goose Byte, Emergent Entertainment, Fair Play Labs, Fuse Games, WB Games Boston, Painting Practice, and K9 Digital: Thank you all for pushing our team to build mudstack and make this journey possible through your support. Special shoutouts to Karl Wickens and Jay Riddle for coming in early and leaning in to help. To all our past, present, and future users / studios: You've depended on mudstack to support your projects and teams. We couldn't be more honored to have that responsibility. To the amazing team that helped build mudstack: We are here today because of you. To my cofounder, Nachiket Kumar, who took a leap of faith on my dream: You are stuck with me forever. Apologies. Lastly, to our investors and advisors at Overline, Forum Ventures, and Hyperplane, more specifically Michael Cohn 🇮🇱🇺🇸, Sean O'Brien, Samara Gordon, Abigail Risse, Vivjan Myrto, Raghav Gupta, and Michael Cardamone: I really can't thank all of you enough for believing so strongly in mudstack and in me personally. Without you, mudstack would not exist. It's been a long journey, but this is only the beginning. 🚀
After over a year in development since our alpha release, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of mudstack v1! We are officially out of beta and ready to play! You can now download our desktop app and onboard your existing projects in minutes, using our auto tagging system to rapidly organize your content. Let mudstack watch for changes and manage versioning so that you can send your content to the cloud when you're ready. Your team gets easy access to a single source of truth for your source files. Give your artists version control that’s built for them. mudstack’s version control: - works at the file level, not at the project level. - automatically creates versions locally as you save work. - gives each user a unified view of all local changes, allowing them to pick files and versions to commit and push to the cloud in one go. Integrated previews, asset management and review tools make mudstack a one stop shop for modern distributed art teams working at scale. We are beyond grateful to our early users and customers— your feedback has been invaluable in ensuring that we’re building the right product for digital art teams. Stop struggling with Google Drive / Slack / Perforce etc when it comes to managing your source art pipeline. mudstack is free for artists, so what are you waiting for? Head over to mudstack.com, download the app and give it a shot!
Such a pleasure to watch you build!
