This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme for this year’s awareness week is Movement: Moving more for our mental health. This week will give us all a great opportunity to raise awareness to talk more freely about mental health and to seek support when needed. Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA England®) has come up with the concept of an Empower Half Hour to bring people together and to help one another to develop some new healthy habits. So, here at Bestway Healthcare, we would like you to join us in supporting Mental Health Awareness week by doing something positive for your own mental health and sharing this with people you know. Each day, we would like to use the Empower Half Hour activities to encourage everyone to explore the links between mental and physical health, as well as support one another to potentially start a new healthy habit. Todays Empower Half Hour theme is – Move 🏃♀️ As we know, moving is good for our physical and mental health. Things your team could try: 🚶♂️ A Walking meeting. 🧘♂️ Chair yoga. 🤸♀️ Lunchtime exercise clubs. Movement is the theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, and for good reason. Research shows that regular physical activity can make us happier and healthier. Not only does our body release feel-good hormones when we're active, but we can also reduce anxiety and stress, and sleep better. This years theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is 'Movement: Move more for your mental health' which is 100% aligned with our vision at FRAME #moveyourframe For Joan Murphy and I, we have always been completely focused on spreading the message that 'exercise makes your feel good', highlighting the link (in a tongue-in-cheek, 'Framey' way... obvs) when most people, especially women, only saw exercise as a punishment and a way to lose weight. We're lucky enough that we get to 'Frame' on the regs... but I never once take this for granted. It makes the tough days bearable and the good days, next level. Whether it's in the studios with one of our amazing instructors (it takes a special human to teach at Frame) or at home in Somerset with our brilliant On Demand offering, I know that however I'm feeling, there's always something to suit my mood. We're very aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have this access to fun, joy-giving movement. I can see why a lot of people fall at the first hurdle, based on the cost, seriousness, and often blandness of what's out there on offer. Frame might not be for everyone. But we are for most - whether our Pilates classes complement your other types of training, or whether Dance Cardio feels far enough from a workout not to fill you with fear. If you know ANYONE who you feel might benefit from more regular movement, whatever that may be, please spread the word and let them know that until the end of the week, they can get FREE access to hundreds of brilliant videos, from just 5 mins long. Introducing ON THE MOVE™ Raising awareness for mental health is important, but what if we could get active and raise awareness beyond May? Inspired by this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week by the Mental Health Foundation, we want to use our first offline campaign for something essential for mental health: movement. Research shows that regular physical activity can significantly improve mental health by reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, boosting mood, and enhancing overall well-being. There is general awareness about the fact that we feel better when we incorporate regular movement into our daily routines. But doing so, isn’t always easy. That’s why we are thrilled to pre-launch ON THE MOVE™ With this campaign, we want to inspire you to move more, show you how to incorporate movement into your daily routines, and get moving together. If you want to get involved, you can join our growing community and attend our first offline events in Berlin.
