Genuinely recommend this organization. If it's "harder" for larger organizations to improve work by respecting humanity, Nestlé Purina North America sure doesn't show it. One of the few companies that I'd truly recommend for your own growth and joy at work. #continuousimprovement #engineering #respecthumanity #improvework #consciousleadership #cpg #manufacturingexcellence #openjobs

When it comes to Manufacturing and Plant based openings... If you are a hiring manager who is requiring a degree for your opening.... Make sure that you have a degree! Aside from a few very specific Engineering disciplines, I don't believe that I have placed a candidate in 20 years that has attributed their success to an undergraduate degree. Traditionally, a degree requirement is used by non-technical individuals as a litmus test to weed out a saturated inbox. If you are an internal stakeholder having an intake conversation with a hiring manager who requires a degree for non-technical disciplines, be sure to ask why they believe it is necessary with applicable experience.

Getting into a management role is tough in Technical Engineering. A lot of engineers want the same thing, you’ll be up against people in your team and outside the business. Usually it would take you about 5 years of service before getting to that jump, but here are some things you can do to help break into that next level (and potentially speed it up a bit). ⚙️ Being multi-skilled 🧠 Having an open mind 🤔 Wanting to learn new things Essentially, decision makers look to promote internally when they see you’re skilled enough, know all the machines and have a technical level of knowledge that is at the top of your team. And they want you to have an open mind, not closed off to sticking with what you know and leaving it at that. You should be striving to learn more all the time. Things are changing, new machines will be brought in and you’ll be faced with issues you haven’t dealt with before. Thinking about asking for a promotion? Go in prepared and make sure you’ve got all of these in order before asking.👆 #Management #Engineering #Promotion

An engineering team is only as good as the engineering organization its in. As many people are looking to change jobs, or looking to get into engineering of one sort or another, vet the organization first. That means asking hard questions of the hiring team. Not just "How's the culture?!" but "Can you tell me about the last person who left the team?" and "How does the organization make technical decisions?" You won't lose a job opportunity for asking hard questions but you will hate your job and be more likely to quit if you end up in a bad engineering org.
