Nursing Inova Health System is simply the best
I am so appreciative of the Inova Nursing Research Fellows experience this year. Our team became the first Ambulatory nursing team to complete this fellowship. Our study analyzed the knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, barriers, and confidence of clinicians in assessing Social Determinants of Health. We shared our findings at the Inova Nursing Research Symposium on October 20th. We were also invited to share our findings through a podium presentation for the AAACN Conference in April 2024. Thank you, Elyssa Wood, for the mentorship with the research and abstract submission. Congratulations team!!! Carla Parker, Beth Harkness, Aisha Keplinger, and Heather Whyte.

Senior Full Professor of Geriatrics│Chairman Department Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UGent│President European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS)
Our recent paper, as part of the PhD research of Lynn Janssens, shows that residents in nursing homes receiving comprehensive oral healthcare provided by Gerodent had significantly better oral hygiene than residents in non-Gerodent nursing homes. An important message is that oral health professionals need to work with and provide ongoing support in long-term care facilities to further improve oral hygiene. This underlines the unique role of this healthcare programme, introduced by Luc De Visschere and Barbara Janssens from UGent, in improving oral health in nursing homes in Flanders. It is a nice example of the impact of research and applied science on society. https://lnkd.in/e-ZF6mPF Ghent University, Faculteit Geneeskunde en Gezondheidswetenschappen UGent
