Traveling to our coastal destinations offers a life-changing experience for our guests, inspiring them to give back to the communities they visit. This generous spirit shows in their support for the Hurtigruten Foundation. Record donations have helped us to distribute more grants than ever before, totalling over €370,000 in the most recent grant cycle. Among the recipients are: 🚢 The Norwegian Hurtigruten Museum, receiving funds for rehabilitating the crew quarters on decks A and B of the museum ship MS Finnmarken, honouring those who have served along the Norwegian coast ever since 1893. 🐟 Another beneficiary is the fishing village of Kamøyvær near the North Cape. With 62 residents welcoming 20,000 to 30,000 tourists annually, the foundation is supporting the Kamøyvær Village Association with a 100,000 NOK grant for local maintenance and improvements. 📷 Image 1: Bjorn Eide 📷 Image 2 & 3: Norsk Hurtigrutemuseum

Fundraising Consultant | Helping mid-sized nonprofit teams ($1-5MM) communicate their story to donors so they raise more money and have more impact.
Your annual fund simply existing is not motivation enough for donors to feel compelled to give to it. The name “annual fund” is a marketing nightmare that, in my opinion, should be used internally only. To quote Jim Langley : “The first word suggests one give simply because the earth orbited around the sun, again. The second offers only a big bucket from which allocations will be made at some later day for vague institutional purposes.” Pushing your annual fund alone is fundamentally flawed: 👉It lacks clarity and specificity 👉Its actual impact is ambiguous 👉It fails to motivate audiences 👉It fails to connect desires of donors 👉It lacks transparency how donations are used Move past searching for givers to your annual fund. Build a community of advocates for your cause. Start here 👇 1. Engagement and Stewardship 2. Transparency and Accountability 3. Impact measurement 4. Donor centric approach This is a pathway to create an environment for your donors to convince themselves they’d be silly not to help. P.S. Jurassic park is one of the greatest movies of all time and I will fight you about it in the comments. 🦕 #fundraising #nonprofit #marketing

Art=Work. This is a very clear statement of one of the founders of Fundacja Ziemniaki i, a cultural foundation from Warsaw, Poland. Since a few weeks I've been active as a mentor in the 'Duct tape & Dreams' programme of Trans Europe Halles, for Joshua Plough & Kathryn Zazenski who are running the foundation. I know how hard it is to keep a cultural space alive in countries like The Netherlands, unfortunately the reality in Poland is currently much worse. With quite a strong framework for the arts & culture in the past, this has been broken down by the current decision makers in the last few years leaving almost no options for public funding behind. They've made a magnificent 'Case For Support' document. When the public funding options are not sufficient, you'll have to diversify the income streams. A well-known method in the Cultural & Creative Industries :) Besides, the project based funding is not enough contributing to regeneration of the sector anyway. This is all shifting. Please take a look at this consciously crafted document, and tag/share with whomever you think it's relevant for. #culture #art #funding #finance #sustainability #regenerativeimpact #poland #mentorship
To our LinkedIn community, Earlier this year, Ziemniaki i joined forces with Stroboskop Art Space to strengthen both organisations and the regional cultural scene of Central / Eastern Europe. Since then, we have put together a Case for Support to show what we’ve already accomplished, what we’re doing now, and our goals for the future. It’s attached to this post, so please take a look. We are currently in the fundraising phase and need to meet our target of €75,000, to secure the foundation’s future and safeguard its position in the fight for a more just, progressive, and creative society. If you know any donors or funding calls that are looking to support the crucial work done by cultural workers, please send them our way or share our post. Thank you, Josh and Katie #fundraising #ngo #notforprofit #philanthropymatters #philanthropy #funding #culture #centraleurope #easterneurope #art #funds
