It seems that buyers were eager to go home with as many GOs as possible, actually, they would have wanted the triple amount of what was offered by sellers. With 1 750 203 MWh buy side order quantity the demand was higher than ever in the past 12 months. How about the money? Well, buyers this time showed up with the smallest ever amount of financial deposits in their pockets. No surprise that the auction (again) resulted the lowest ever volume weighted average price in the amount of 1.04 EUR/MWh. The board of Tyman (LSE:TYMN) has agreed to the maker of locks and other construction components being taken over by larger US peer Quanex Building Products Corp (NYSE:NX) for £788 million. Under the agreed offer, shareholders in the London-listed company will receive 400p in cash and shares, or can choose an all-share offer.  The main offer comprises 240p cash and 0.05715 of a new Quanex share for each share they own, which is based on a closing share price of US$34.64 last Friday is worth 160p.  Under the alternative offer, a proportion Tyman (LSE:TYMN) shareholders can elect to receive just shares at a ratio of 0.14288 of a new Quanex share to every one Tyman share.  Only up to 25% of the Tyman shares will be able to receive this all-share offer. 📈 The failure to couple European day-ahead power markets on Tuesday led to huge price variations within separate auctions held by Epex Spot and the results from the single European day-ahead market coupling (SDAC). ⬆ The German day-ahead price at Epex settled at EUR 492.04/MWh, the highest since 1 September 2022, while the result at the Nord Pool and EXXA exchanges, which remained in the SDAC, was only EUR 103.01/MWh and in line with expectations. ⬇ The results for the French day-ahead auction showed the opposite picture, with SDAC prices at EUR 105.98/MWh compared to an Epex price of only EUR 2.96/MWh. 🔎 An EPEX spokeswoman said the exchange was “working on an in-depth analysis of the market events, including order book analysis. At this point in time, it is therefore not possible for Epex Spot to provide more insights.” An expert at a European TSO, who wished to remain anonymous, said he thought the decoupling was the largest the European market had seen to date. “I don’t think this has ever happened on this scale.” Article en français : https://lnkd.in/eFGbe7HQ ⤵
