If you can remember back to when you got promoted into your first people leadership role, how did you feel during the transition? Likely super stoked and on top of the world at first. Then perhaps some fear or imposter syndrome snuck in? If you learned most of your leadership skills on-the-job through osmosis, I'd love to provide a better experience for your future people leaders. Positive and negative feedback is important because it helps break bad habits, reinforces positive behavior, and enables teams to work more effectively toward their goals. It should come from both ways - upwards and downwards and the process of giving feedback can make the work relationship a lot stronger and aligned on the same goals.
