Lots of folks are stuck in a tough spot where the money they make just doesn't match up with how much housing costs. In Cincinnati, there's a shortage of over 28,000 affordable housing units, and it's hitting hard. What's even more surprising is that at least 54% of households earning less than $30,000 a year are shelling out more than half of their income for housing. Universal housing choice vouchers would address the current rental crisis in two ways: 1. It would prevent eligible neighbors from experiencing housing cost burden. They wouldn’t have to spend more than 30% of their income on rent. 2. Evictions would drop because eligible neighbors could afford their rent every month. To get the most value out of universal vouchers, HUD would need to address voucher discrimination in a more impactful way. 📈 Data and research can equip advocates to preserve affordable housing, develop effective programs, and demonstrate the impact stable homes can provide. One way PAHRC does this by partnering with the National Low Income Housing Coalition to maintain the National Housing Preservation Database so that advocates across the country can assess preservation risks in their community. These policies were prompted by an analysis by the National Housing Preservation Database, which found that the subsidies attached to over 20 percent of the city’s affordable homes will expire in the next decade, putting entire communities who depend on those subsidies for housing stability at risk of economic eviction and displacement." 👉 Interested in getting started? Imagine a children's home unlike any other in that the trained professionals that care for these children also all live on the property rent free and with all basic needs c paid for just like the children they serve all while still being well compensated for their expertise and care. Now imagine that these childrens' homes and staff residences sit on over 2,500 acres and house more than 4,000 professionals and 12,000 displaced women and children. This is the vision at The Good Shepherds House #CH75552. The property would include state of the art infrastructure, school buildings, medical facilities, recreational areas, cultural arts and media facilities, private security and public safety measures. Couple this with the latest technologies in solar energy and self sustaining farm techniques and you have the worlds largest humanitarian mission. The financial burden for an endeavor of this sort is actually not as high as one would imagine. In the coming weeks I will share some of the budgeting and means of investment opportunities to show how little it actually takes when many of us join together for something as life changing as this. 1moI have an organization that aims to build self. Sustaining communities across the nation as a means to help resolve several systematic failures and also act as economic relief for local and state governments. The relief would allow said governments to redirect the funds that normally would be spent on such resources into other very important budget items. I want to offer a space for service providers to come in and offer. The resources that the people within the community will obviously need. And this allows the community members to have access to the resources that they need for living their daily lives, right within their own communities. Which helps improve the quality of life of z members of the community, and it is also important to me to protect the Earth and be as environmentally friendly as possible. And that's why I have chosen the type of architectural structures and energy options that I have and it is also very important to me to Build around the landscape rather than go in and bulldoze the lot before construction. I do not know what type of government funding. I can get for the initial start at and I don't know if someone can help me. Why point me in that direction? Thank you very much.
