See what Shannon thinks of her time here so far, then visit https://lnkd.in/eVFTy9qB to apply for a position with us… ——————————————— Meet the #TraffixCrew Shannon Cotton - Traffic Management Operative Q: Where did you start? A: I found out about the role through one of my friends who works at Traffix. My initial induction and training were very thorough and enjoyable. I learned pretty quickly what the company ethos is and what would be expected of me to maintain the high standards Traffix expect. I am relatively early into my career at Traffix, but my impressions so far are very favourable. Q: What is your role? A: I am part of the team of Traffic Management Operatives that supports one of our large client contracts for highway repairs and improvements. I arrive at the office for my shift, find out where I will be and what the job entails, then the van is loaded with the equipment required and we drive to the job. Once there I will set the job up, carry out whatever the duties are for the day, then it’s a case of taking the job down and back to the office. Q: Where do you see myself next at Traffix? A: There is a lot more to Traffic Management than I first thought. There are so many opportunities to progress at Traffix, it would be nice to keep moving up the ladder and build a career here. I have already started to progress through the ticket levels which helps your earning potential. Q: Why Traffix? A: I chose Traffix because of the professional way in which the interview process was handled and the career path was very interesting, plus everyone was really nice from the moment I walked through the door. I would say the most enjoyable part of the job is the people I work with, being a Traffic Management Operative is a good job, but the team makes it even better. ------------------------------ #TrafficManagement #Recruitment #Careers #CareerOpportunities #Birmingham #Telford #Derby #Midlands #Shropshire #Derbyshire #Jobs

Most companies seem to have that one job role they just can't quite fill properly. Much like Hogwarts being unable to properly select a defence against the dark arts professor who isn't either a complete wally or one of Lord Voldemort's minions - he who shall not be hired. - It might be an Estimator to work in your office, which just so happens to be in Mordor. - Maybe it's a QS with 3 - 5 years drylining experience, despite the fact you've got more chance of finding Amelia Earhart. - Perhaps you're looking for a Project Manager who already works with your onsite systems, even though you use 47 different ones and 3 of them require you to speak fluent Cantonese. Which is fine, I get it, you need them to walk through the door and be ready to fire on all cylinders but you've got to take into account some of the nuances of the roles. - It might be worth letting them work from home twice a week. - Maybe allow for more junior or more senior candidates. - Perhaps you could put them on a course to teach them the systems you use on site. Because if you don't, you're going to find yourself looking for a new defence against the dark arts teacher once every new school year and nobody wants that. #drylining #hewhoshallnotbehired

This! This is a perfect example of what I spoke to earlier this week, and I couldn't not share when I saw it this morning. The story of Jessica Rioux is a paragon of dedication and loyalty, and she is an exemplary professional with more knowledge than most who are actively in management and human resources departments (IMHO). Jessica started her career as a receptionist, and I would suggest she is way more than what her current title reflects. Her unwavering commitment and hands-on approach are what had her rising through the ranks. She embodies the very essence of growth and adaptability. And today, she stands as a testament to what dedication and continuous learning can achieve. You want to know what truly sets Jessica apart, though? Her story. We all have them. My favorite kind of inspiration are the stories, the achievements, the examples of others. Jessica has many, I am sure, but my favorite... Five years ago, as a single working mother, Jessica demonstrated extraordinary determination by pursuing and obtaining her BBA in Business Management & Human Resources - this is no small feat. And, mind you, I needed a little of that inspiration when I was first deciding whether or not I should go back to school. The hands-on experience she has collected over the last decade provides her with a unique perspective, enabling her to understand and address the nuances of workplace dynamics effectively. That experience makes her invaluable, her person Jessica mentions that Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." She, and many whose titles don't accurately reflect their contributions to their company, is/are a living embodiment of this philosophy, proving that collective efforts, guided by knowledgeable and dedicated individuals, lead to unparalleled success. Happy 10 years, Jessica, that Southern office is lucky to have you. #ProfessionalGrowth #HumanResources #Leadership #Dedication #CareerJourney #Inspiration #pulpandpaperindustry #chemicalindustry
Just over nine years ago, I accepted the position as receptionist at STEBBINS ENGINEERING. Much to my surprise, God had big plans to expand my horizons in the professional realm. Leaving the school system as a para professional, I had no clue the journey I would soon embark on. After eleven months at STEBBINS, I was offered the role of billing assistant. I accepted the role and embraced it with an open mind. Eleven months later I was asked to take on the role of Southern Operations Coordinator. Although I knew I desired growth, I was quite nervous. However, I pushed through the nervousness and embraced the challenge. It’s safe to say, I had no clue the depth of that challenge at the time. Yet, I persevered. Thankfully, many patient leaders took me under their wings and taught me about the role. My position as coordinator opened many doors of growth for me. It also opened my eyes to a whole new world that I hadn’t yet experienced. In 2018, I visited a jobsite for the first time in Fernandina Beach, FL. (Picture below) I was so proud to go out and see what I had a small part of bringing to fruition. To be a part of “the crew” for a few days gave me such a sense of pride. Today, after coordinating for seven years, I can honestly say that I have so much respect for the people in this industry. Being a part of it has afforded me the opportunity to meet many great people and appreciate the skill set of each individual. As I move toward my tenth year, I look forward to learning and growing much more with our team. “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
