I am often explaining why there is a difference between an experience vs an event. Likewise, it is usually coupled with a request for my POV about what brand and consumer trends to look out for. Well, in 2022, during the height of the Pandemic, we invested in creating a first-of-its-kind Hospitality Retail experience for Kimpton Rowan in Palm Springs. The 2022 Palm Springs Escape opening night was the first 150 drone live show created for the Palm Springs community and a hotel in the USA. This wasn't sponsored by a Brand. This was a community show we at A\N/A A Non-Agency® created and sponsored for the community because it was our way of introducing digital art in the sky and creating delight during the Pandemic. Watch: https://lnkd.in/eF6cKQHE It was a way to offer value, delight and something which would showcase our artistry and contribution to the sustainability and artistic community. The community and hotel loyalists were given access to the best viewing seat in the house, the tallest building in the Coachella Valley. We won 9 industry awards and were featured on every single local AM and PM news channel in Palm Springs. 1. Build community by giving to the community. 2. Creators create and do not simply repost. 3. Loyalty is earned and rewarded with special experiences and access. Thank you so much to Frost*collective for inviting me to participate in this panel discussion about, Meeanjin Country, identity, place and responsibility. I felt really privileged to be sitting alongside fellow panelists Michael Stott, Troy Casey and Cat Burgess, all incredibly insightful people, passionate about their respective calling. I’ve thought a lot about this conversation since, in terms of redefining Meeanjin (Brisbane), preparing for the Olympics and the legacy to follow. I loved Michael Stott's take where he mentioned that we don’t have to over complicate it – the answer can be quite simple. When we draw back the curtain to explore what, and who, Meeanin is, there are good bones to work with already, maybe we just need to build on that. Its beauty is its simplicity. And if we talk about legacy, Troy Casey mentioned that Traditional Knowledge has this way of looking back in order to move forward. I think that this is key. It has to be based on one of the foundation pillars of sustainability being, #Envisioning a Better Future or #FuturesThinking. If we really think about this and look at the industrialized past infused in our current thinking we might consider taking a different approach. Maybe if we start designing for the future, for our grandkids and theirs, as an initial first lens before starting a masterplan, development or project, maybe we will start to infuse a layer of depth and understanding of what a beautiful, resilient city might look like. That way the legacy is about the future city, and the future city is about the legacy. Thanks again Frost*collective looking forward to the next one! #Naturebasedsolutions #RegenerativeDesign #BiophilicDesign #Sustainability #BuildBetter #LowCarbon #Materiality #Intergenerationalequity
If you weren’t lucky enough to attend deFrost* 67 in person at our good friends Eco Outdoor Group's stunning showroom, you can watch the entire talk now. Our panel of experts generously shared their ideas for how we can work together to design Brisbane as a truly great city to its full potential. Everyone agrees, Brisbane is great, and we don’t want to ruin it. Whatever we do, we need to embody the real Brisbane in an authentic way. Catriona Burgess says, “What is the solution creatively and strategically? It’s about a shifting of and managing a perception gap.” We need to stop looking for identity beyond our borders and embrace what we have. And as Troy Casey asked us to consider, “If you have the ability to make change, what is your responsibility?” We also spoke about the blueprint for the iconic Queenslander built by Aboriginals over 65,000 years ago, redefining buildings that already exist and dancing with systems for the benefit of communities. Thanks again to our panel Audrey Penney at ADP Consulting Pty Ltd, Troy Casey at Blaklash, Michael Stott at DBI , Catriona Burgess at Frost*collective and of course our host Vince Frost. The common theme continues across the river .... A recent NY Post article shares how trophy spaces in New York City are experiencing a shortage of available spaces. As businesses adapt to the changing landscape, securing top-tier office space is becoming increasingly competitive on BOTH sides of the Hudson. Why are tenants willing to pay the premium to secure Trophy Spaces? - Location - Quality Renovations - Amenities and Creative Services (more on this later) Building that can provide all 3 categories are proven to have success in securing tenants and driving employees into the office. #🏆OfficeSpace #CBRE #HudsonRiver #Quality #CRE NYC's best Class A offices are already running out of space (nypost.com)
