Thank you Kelsey Eisen for the great COVETEUR write-up on Hotel Emma - we can't wait to welcome you back to San Antonio! "By the end of my stay at Hotel Emma, I was relaxed, pampered, fattened like a sacrificial calf, and devastated to be leaving. In other words, I am happy to report my conclusion that Hotel Emma has absolutely earned the distinction of being the top luxury hotel in the country. If you aren’t convinced yet, just ask Cher, who once tweeted that Hotel Emma was one of the most beautiful and unique hotels she’s ever stayed at (even giving her credentials as someone who has stayed at the most amazing properties in the world and her opinion that Hotel Emma “might take the [cake emoji]”)." https://lnkd.in/g65MY8iC

A concept hotel is a type of hotel that is designed to offer a unique and distinctive experience to guests. These hotels are known for their innovative design, themed rooms, and unique amenities that are designed to appeal to a specific type of traveler. The goal of a concept hotel is to provide guests with a memorable experience that goes beyond just a place to stay. What sets concept hotels apart from traditional hotels is their focus on creating a unique and personalized experience for guests. These hotels often have a specific theme or concept that is reflected in their design, amenities, and services. For example, a hotel themed around art might have rooms designed by local artists, an on-site art gallery, and art-inspired décor throughout the hotel. Below is not a hotel but a staycation home called the Wizarding World Suite in PJ, for up to 5 guests and available on Airbnb......brilliantly done 😊

HIDDEN GUEST: Keight Hotel Opatija, Curio Collection by Hilton FINAL IMPRESSION AND CREDIBILITY The hotel is positioned high in terms of stars and price policy. The expectations are thus as high as the prices for staying here. In many ways, the hotel meets those expectations. However, to justify the prices and five-star level, Keight Hotel Opatija will need to run like a well-oiled machine. The design/architecure itself is superb. The hotel boasts a refined interior, while the exterior blends with its neighbouring buildings. As hotel guests, we cannot desire more architectural extravaganza from a boutique hotel. Although our remark is utterly subjective, we thought the hotel exuded exclusive elegance with a hint of subtle drama, so typical of the 3LHD architectural bureau’s projects. Yet, the design is only one side of the coin. We must give the hotel more time to calibrate its service. Even though we were not disappointed by the service, we expected more, as do demanding clients, whom the hotel aims to attract. Regardless, Keight Hotel Opatija is poised to become a world-class hotel and gem Opatija desperately needs amid a flood of mediocre accommodations. We should give it some time to fulfil its promise ... Last month, I travelled to Japan with The MICHELIN Guide where Gwendal Poullennec announced Japan will be the first Asian country to receive Michelin Keys, which recognises the world's most exceptional hotels. Here are the "key" 😁 takeaways, which I covered for CNA: https://lnkd.in/d62_xuE3 🗝 Michelin Keys will be assessed using 5 criteria: Each hotel must contribute to the local experience; offer excellent interior design and architecture; display an authentic, individual character; provide consistent quality service and offer value for money in terms of price and experience. (Special attention is given to properties that offer high-quality food experiences.) 🗝 It aims to unearth hidden gems – think hotels that are off the beaten path, not part of any hotel groups or don’t conform to typical international hotel standards, like traditional Japanese ryokans. 🗝 Japan will be the first Asian country to receive Michelin Keys in part because its debut there helped the Guide become “a truly global reference for dining”. 🗝 It will offer a user-focused experience: you can browse Michelin-selected hotels for free, book at the best available rate and access a 24/7 concierge service, staffed by actual humans 🙋♀️ 🙋♂️ 🗝 Michelin keys are awarded by Michelin's famed anonymous inspectors 🕵♂️ who are full-time employees. The decision to award a key is always a team decision, with different inspectors being sent to evaluate the same property to eliminate individual biases. 🗝 The sea and sky is the limit – yachts (or hypothetically even airborne vessels) could potentially receive Michelin Keys, as long as they meet the criteria. The first Michelin Keys will be awarded in early 2024 – watch this space. Sheena Flannery Théo BRETON Alongkorn Srichuen

HIDDEN GUEST: Arena Hospitality Group Grand Hotel Brioni Pula The second we glimpsed at the renovated hotel, we forgot how Grand Hotel Brioni Pula looked before the renovation. The revamp was radical and sensible enough to have elevated the original extremely functional architectural design. The timeless elegance that seems to adorn the hotel stirs many emotions. More importantly, it will never go out of style. We relished our stay and could not grow tired of the fresh, azure colours. Nature is within arm’s reach from the hotel rooms, conference centre and restaurants. Grand Hotel Brioni Pula has shown that modernist architecture can withstand the test of time. Its style closely resembles modern architectural concepts with a less-is-more approach that has been winning over critics. Above all, we believe the Istrian outpost of Pula has gained a five-star gem that will gain a loyal base of followers. At its core, the hotel is superb and, in many ways, extraordinary, setting new standards in this part of the Adriatic. We do not doubt your attendees will cherish the hotel, too, not least because Grand Hotel Brioni Pula has been hosting public figures and VIP guests for half a century. This hotel is a game-changer that will convince event organisers to discover the tremendously diverse offer of Pula instead of Rovinj, Opatija and Portorož. We were most positively surprised by the staff. Each staff member was utterly professional. In addition, the butler service is a radical upgrade of the classic mini bar. Located on each floor, the butler service has an offer that can hardly fit into a classic mini bar. You can even buy gifts for your loved ones. Innovative! ...
