A Resume Tip especially helpful for hoteliers or those aspiring to work in the hotel industry: If you've worked at different properties or restaurants, it helps to highlight or draw attention to some fast facts that can include: # of Rooms # square feet of meeting space # of restaurants on site (if a hotel or larger property) # of seats in restaurant (if a restaurant manager of a solo operation) $ volume of business I typically highlight the first two facts ( # of rooms & # of meeting space) under the name of the property. Example Fictional Hotel Position Title 700 rooms 40k sq ft meeting space (bullet points, highlight accomplishments, etc.) The goal is to give a hiring manager a quick snapshot of the areas you worked and scope you have experienced. If a hiring manager can easily see you've worked at properties where the room count is 300, 250, and 375 respectively, They will likely think one of three things "This candidate can handle a similar role in a 500 room hotel" "This candidate can take on an executive level role in a 200 room hotel" "This candidate can handle a promotion in a 350 room hotel" You are only given a few moments for someone to review your resume, help them help you!! #hospitality #hotels #hotelindustry #resumetips #jobseeksers

"Dynamic Professional with 15 Years' Expertise in Hospitality, Tourism, and Customer Care in BPO Industries"
🌟 Ever wondered what it takes to land a job at a luxury hotel? Well, let’s just say it’s not really about your skills or experience... 😏 First off, let’s talk about your resume. Have you worked at a "normal" hotel? How quaint! But unfortunately, in the world of luxury, that’s like having fast food experience when you’re applying to be a Michelin-star chef. 🍔👨🍳 Did you manage a bustling team and keep your guests happy? That’s adorable, but we’re looking for someone who has mastered the art of adjusting the angle of a pillow just so. 🛏️✨ Next up, education. You might have a degree in Hospitality Management, but did you attend the top 0.01% of hospitality schools? 🎓 If your school doesn't have "prestige" dripping from its walls, well, we might have a lovely concierge position opening in about ten years. 😂 And let’s not forget the all-important pedigree. 🐶 If your family hasn’t been in the luxury hotel business for at least five generations, we’re afraid you just won’t fit in with our legacy staff. 👵👩👧👶👶 No family legacy? Tough break! We prefer our employees to have grown up discussing pillow menus over breakfast. 🥐 Then there's the experience. Have you spent years perfecting the art of guest satisfaction? That’s nice, but we’re really looking for someone who has catered to royalty, celebrities, and maybe a unicorn or two. 🦄👑 Your guests were satisfied? Our guests need to be enchanted, pampered, and treated as if they just descended from Mount Olympus. 🏛️✨ So, if you're thinking about applying to a luxury hotel, just remember: it's not about what you know, but who your ancestors were, where you learned how to fluff a pillow, and whether your last name sounds like it belongs in a yacht club registry. 🌊⚓ #LuxuryLife #EliteHiring #NormalHotelProblems #Sarcasm #HospitalityTruths #ExclusiveOnly

🛎 Have you ever worked in a hotel pre-opening? If not, maybe you should give it a shot. According to Chiara Fenestrelli, HR Director for W Milano, it’s one of the most valuable experiences you can have on your hospitality CV. In an exclusive interview with Hosco, Chiara goes in-depth about what it’s like to be part of the initial team to launch a luxury property, outlines the benefits, and explains what type of people she thinks are most likely to succeed in a pre-opening setting. We’ve included 3 key takeaways from our conversation with Chiara, but to get the full picture of why working in a hotel before it opens is so beneficial, read the entire interview here: https://lnkd.in/dXfrTuPp

Have came across many posts of hiring by the 5 Star Hotels mentioning prior 5 star Hotel experience is a must. Does that mean people if a person has not worked in 5 Star Hotel is not considered because they doubt their capability. I am sure most hiring manager will not even think of calling the Candidate. Agree or Disagree #hoteljobs #hospitalityindustry

“My advise would be to expose yourself in different departments such as Housekeeping, Front office, Accounts, Revenue , Sales, Food and Beverage.
