We received another batch of gas pipeline troubleshooting samples today, looking for the source of dithiazine within the gathering system. Solids are appearing at the gas plant and dithiazine is present in the liquids (hydrocarbon and water). The plant increased scavenger dosing to reduce the formation of dithiazine, but it had little impact. So, we started looking upstream. Six of the samples we received are slop water from various compressor stations that feed the plant. Four samples measure a couple hundred ppm dithiazine -- an interesting result in and of itself. But the other two samples are 6,000 and 8,000-ppm dithiazine. Yes, that's 0.6% and 0.8%. It seems like we found the source of the problem! Dithiazine has a strong signal with Quantitative Raman Spectroscopy and is very easy to measure. Having trouble with solids? We can help. Don't guess. 【Q&A】What are the advantages of VPSA oxygen generation technology compared with the cryogenic process? For small to medium-sized plants (smaller than 20,000 Nm3/h), VPSA oxygen generation technology has the following advantages over conventional cryogenic air separation process: 1) Economically, VPSA oxygen-generating equipment has smaller investments and lower operation costs. 2) The VPSA oxygen generation process is simpler, with fewer equipment components and precision, a higher degree of automation, and lower requirements for the operators. 3) In terms of operating conditions, the VPSA oxygen plant is operated under normal temperature and pressure, the time required for start-up and shut-down is shorter (shorter than 30 minutes). The unit can be operated either intermittently or continuously, with a wider range of load regulation. 4) In operation and maintenance, no hydrocarbons are accumulated in the VPSA oxygen-generating process, with no possibility of explosion. The low precision of the mainframe makes it simple to maintain, and the requirements for valve sealing are not harsh, so the failure rate is lower and easier to deal with timely. https://lnkd.in/gUcJ4cNY

In the first part, we simulated an operational SRU to evaluate the precision of the Optimized Gas Treating, Inc.'s SulphurPro® simulator. Moving on to the second part, we investigate the impact of oxygen enrichment on the performance of the same unit. In the 1st part, the baseline scenario involved utilizing air enriched with 28.5% oxygen. The current aim is to precisely ascertain the impact of this enrichment on various crucial performance parameters within the as-built plant. It's essential to clarify that this investigation is not a design-oriented study. Instead, the SRU, under all the examined conditions, must function within the established physical constraints of the existing equipment and flowsheet configuration, without any modifications. #SulphurPro
