We need to treat all people as we would like to be treated - with respect and dignity! I invite you to read this summary of activities that UNAIDS is launching tomorrow, on #IDAHOBIT, to leverage the voices and work of LGBTQ people around the world. Being an ally goes beyond labels. Being an LGBTQ ally means actively supporting and advocating for the community. Through advocacy and support, allies help turn 'them' into 'us,' encouraging individuals to be themselves and supporting them on their journey. Let's make our actions speak louder than words and create a more inclusive world for everyone. #LGBTQAlly #DiversityandInclusion #EmpowerLGBTQ

Now more than ever, employers are stepping up to support under-served areas of healthcare – including fertility and the healthcare needs of the LGBTQ community. As it turns out, when these two areas come together, LGBTQ employees need extra help. To be an ally means that an individual or organisation as a whole accepts, supports and promotes LGBTQ rights and equality. Ultimately, being an ally is the right thing to do – but that’s not the only reason it matters. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3J0vZMX #APSCo #Fertility #LGBTQIAPlus

A year ago we started our series called "Connecting Conversations." Our goal is to bring together great minds from different sectors, all trying to tackle the same problem. So, in this first one, we brought together leaders from the nonprofit, academic, and start-up sectors who are experts in Culturally Competent Care for LGBTQ Communities. A highly engaging, unscripted, real conversation was had with Kellan E. Baker, Gaurang Choksi, and David (Hyunmin) Yu. Follow the link for full video and great clips!

Join me today in signing The Human Rights Campaign “Come Out Against Hate” pledge. LGBTQIA 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️💕✨ visibility and allyship is more important now than ever before in our nation’s 🇺🇸 and world’s 🌍 history. I will elevate LGBTQIA voices and not be complacent: the facts, the statistics, the data, the scientific publications do not lie: the collateral damage is thousands upon thousands upon thousands of young LGBTQIA human lives at stake here. I want to state this as clearly as possible to any LGBTQIA person: You are valuable, you are worthwhile, you are special, you are amazing, and you are perfect just as you are right now in this very moment, and also who you are becoming and growing into with each and every passing day - do not let a single soul tell you otherwise 🤗💞🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🌈✨ Read the following The Trevor Project documentation of the studies: ❗️41% of LGBTQIA young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year. ❗️56% of LGBTQIA youth who wanted mental health care in the past year were not able to get the resources they need. ❗️A majority of young LGBTQIA people are being bullied and harassed at school ❗️Nearly 1 in 3 LGBTQIA young people said their mental health was poor most of the time or always due to anti-LGBTQIA policies and legislation https://lnkd.in/eVjkcEmG This is going to be a full on team effort. Let’s fight this climate of hate with love💞, together. #LGBTQIA #LGBTQ #LGBTQEquality #LGBTQRIGHTS #allyship #inclusion #representation #DEIB #Diversity The Trevor Project The Human Rights Campaign

Today, we honor and celebrate the legalization of gay marriage in The United States. While we have made much progress, we still have miles to go. For more than half of the state’s LGBTQ community, food on the table isn’t always a given. Hunger is not a temporary emergency—it’s an ongoing crisis in Massachusetts. According to our fourth annual statewide report, focusing investments on food pantries that serve LGBTQ communities could improve food equity and access. According to The Trevor Project, LGBTQ youth are at risk because of a lack of acceptance, understanding, empathy, and compassion. That lack comes at a great cost: a national survey conducted in 2023 found 41% of LGBTQ youth have seriously considered suicide in the last year. LifeWorks NW is proud to participate in Zero Suicide, a nationwide initiative to bring together care providers and communities to end suicide. One tool our communities can use: 988. Call or text to connect with a trained counselor and local services, including specialists in youth or LGTBQ care. Although the LGBTQ community can experience higher rates of intimate partner violence, the first statewide study of Orders of Protection in South Carolina found that of the 2377 cases reviewed from 2019, only 22 were filed by same sex partners. LGBTQ survivors can often face barriers to seeking help including stigma, prejudice, and discrimination when seeking services. ➡️ View the infographic from the University of South Carolina to learn more: https://loom.ly/V-kwXzY ➡️ Read the full study: https://loom.ly/3PFkCmg #SupportSurvivors #SurvivorSafety #EndDV #EndIPV
