Success as a nonprofit is all about community partnership! We were provided the opportunity for a donation of 20 suitcases (and a full tub of toiletries); which, is not our exact "lane" when working with foster youth; so, we brought them to the amazing OCJ Kids for foster youth aging out of group homes. OCJ Kids fills the suitcases up with all kinds of necessity items that youth need as they transition from foster care and journey into adulthood. #fosteringheroes #fosteringheroesfoundation #partnership #partners #nonprofitleadership #nonprofitorganization #nonprofits #fostercare #fostercareawareness #fosteryouth #fosterchildren #fostering #nonprofitsuccess #nonprofit #nonprofitorganizations #nonprofitwork #nonprofitgrowth #nonprofitimpact #givingback #communitypartners #communitypartnership #communitypartnerships

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) providing innovative business solutions in Health, Wellness, and Beauty.
As a #widowwarrior, I can attest to the importance of immediate and ongoing attention to this segment of women's #health. #widows #womenshealth
At Modern Widows Club, women’s health matters. Due to the chronic lack of outreach to #widows, conventional viewpoints seldom acknowledge #widowhood as a women’s health issue. We work every day to challenge this mindset and lead the way in advancing real conversations about the effect of widowhood on a woman’s physical and #mentalhealth. Supporting widows is an unfulfilled community need worldwide. Next Tuesday is Giving Tuesday, a day designated for people around the world to come together through acts of generosity. Modern Widows Club is one of the nonprofit charities participating in Giving Tuesday. Please help us continue to serve widows nationally, internationally, and virtually by making a tax-deductible donation on November 28 or at any time beforehand. https://lnkd.in/ew6XrnWe Thank you for your contribution on GivingTuesday! We are grateful for your compassion and support. #widow #widowstrength #widowcourage #givingtuesday #charity #nonprofit #giving #modernwidowsclub #womenshealth #widowsupport #stress #sdoh #solutions #anxietysupport #publichealth #familiesfirst

Chief Executive of YWCA Yorkshire - Women’s Rights - Gender Politics - Accommodation and Support - Homelessness - Walker - Outdoor Swimmer
Calling on our wonderful local business community - can we work together? It’s that time again - so many of us spent December busily wrapping things up (quite literally) in time for Christmas, then with the pull of a cracker, we are launching into January full of good intentions and determination but with much of the same to-do list hanging over us! In 2023 YWCA Yorkshire supported over 250 women, children and families in Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield. This support is all year round 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We work with people who have experienced homelessness, trauma, abuse, poverty and relationship breakdowns and In many cases our young women and children won't have the security or comfort of family to fall back on. Our charity provides housing, support networks, training and access to education. Having a warm and safe place to call home, and compassionate, professional people to support you through the tough times, can break the cycle and change the trajectory of a person's life forever. The families we support are incredibly resilient and with the right support and understanding, they really can thrive! In 2023 we worked with some wonderful businesses locally who helped us to support our families out of difficulty and into positive, independent futures, so this year we are calling out to our fantastic local business community and asking if you would consider working with us in 2024 and even making us your Charity of the Year? There are many ways that we can partner with you and your teams and work together to support people to make positive change. We’ve put some ideas together in our Corporate Partnership Pack https://lnkd.in/e_kdCeHH and these include mutually beneficial partnerships that create social value and raise profile, donations of time and skills, employer supported volunteering and community fundraising. If you are looking to make an impact locally - we have lots of experience working well with businesses and community groups and we’d love to talk to you more about opportunities to partner with us this year. Let’s talk! You can message me here or email me [email protected] #charityfundraising #givingback #makingadifference #makinganimpact

Empathy Definition: the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. How to Teach Empathy: It must be modeled. Empathy is an inherent feeling in most children. Neurodiverse children can often struggle to build empathetic skills. The easiest, most effective way to teach your child about empathy is to model examples of it. Acknowledge their feelings. Validate their concerns. Help them feel what others are feeling by sharing examples or ideas of what someone might be feeling. A great way to show empathy is by sharing ideas or examples of what another person is feeling. One way to show your child empathy is validating their feelings of being upset with a situation. Empathy can also be shown with other caregivers by sharing similar experiences of getting your child's accommodations, services, or help. #nonprofit #therapy #clinic #accessibility #disabilityawareness #disabilityadvocate #disabilityservices #donation #donate #philanthropy #volunteer #goodcause #grandrapids #westmichigan #dino-rawr2024 #therapyandlifeskills

Supporting employees and employers affected by cancer is crucial in fostering a compassionate and productive workplace. Dr Liz Sparkes' dedication to Yes to Life, driven by personal experience, exemplifies how impactful community engagement can be. Her efforts in organizing a retreat that raised over £1,300 highlight the power of combining wellness practices with charitable initiatives. Incorporate This Approach in Your Workplace: 1. Promote Employee-Led Initiatives: Encourage employees to organize wellness events and fundraisers, fostering a sense of community and purpose. 2. Integrate Holistic Practices: Offer sessions on meditation, breathwork, and compassion practices to support employees' mental and emotional well-being. 3. Community Engagement: Partner with local organizations and charities to create meaningful volunteer opportunities for employees. How Our Tree of Life Program Helps: Our Tree of Life Employee Vitality and Cancer Defense Program supports employees through all phases of cancer—diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and preventive care. By integrating holistic wellness practices, we help improve quality of life and support employers in creating a supportive work environment. Congratulations to Wootton Park Wellness, @Lexis Loving Spoonful, Become One Breathwork (Adam Bray), and all practitioners involved for making a significant difference. Your efforts inspire us all to prioritize well-being and community support. #YesToLife #CancerCharity #Volunteer #VolunteeringOpportunities #CancerSupport #CancerCare #CancerSupportCommunity #CancerSupportServices
Meet our Supporter - Dr Liz Sparkes "Liz decided to support Yes to Life after her friend Andy died of cancer last year. She supported him through his last year of life with meditation, compassion practices and energy work. She believes "in this being available to all". Her belief led her to organise a beautiful retreat which included sound journey to the heart, breathwork and a session on the essence of compassion with all profit donated to our work. She raised over £1,300 for Yes to Life and we are so grateful for her generosity! Thank you to Liz and everyone that helped make the event so successful. Wootton Park Wellness @Lexi's Loving Spoonful @become.one.breathwork (Adam Bray) And thanks to all the Practitioners who donated to the prize draw. Did you know that the free, online magazine @Autistic Revolution is run by unpaid volunteers? Thanks to donations, we have had help to pay the monthly costs in running this resource. We have put in for charity status (and so fingers crossed for more stable financial support) but in the meantime, I'd like to share the magazine's Just Giving page. Thanks so much and we look forward to sharing issue 3 with you soon :) - - - ID. An image with teal background. At top and in white is 'Just Giving Fundraiser'. There is a black band in the middle with the Autistic Revolution name in gold and swirls in blue, green and orange. #neurodiversity #disability
