August is a major month for donations, with September 1 being a big moving day in addition to it being back-to-school season. Please be considerate of our donation bin hosts and other donors when you’re dropping off clothing donations. Remember: 👕 If the bin is full, don’t leave your donation outside of the bin. Please bring it to another bin or save it for another time. 👕 Place your donations in a small- or medium-sized bag (no hangers or boxes). Larger bags and boxes often won’t fit in our bins. 👕 Hold on tightly to your phone, keys, wedding band, etc. so you don’t donate anything unintentionally. 👕 Don’t put financial contributions in the bins - please send checks separately. Our bins are emptied at least four times a week, and even more frequently during moving season. Your courtesy and care help us through this busy time so that together, we can support folks in need in our community and keep as much clothing as possible out of landfills! #secondchances #donationbin #clothing #donation #recycle #sustainability #cambridge #somerville #back-to-school

Local toy drives have a special place in our hearts because they directly impact the lives of children in our very own community. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference to a child who may otherwise go without a gift during the holidays. By donating to local drives, you're not only spreading joy but also fostering a sense of togetherness and compassion. Where can you donate? Big Brothers and Big Sisters of RI: This local organization collects clothing and soft fabrics for children in need and distributes them to families within the community. You can donate to their bins at the VFW as well as the Cup Defenders on Wood St. Bristol Police Department: They often host a holiday toy drive, and donations can be dropped off at their headquarters. Local Churches: Many churches in Bristol actively participate in toy drives during the holiday season. Check with your local parish to see if they have a collection. Schools and Community Centers: Keep an eye out for toy collection bins at your local schools or community centers. If we can become aware of others and what the community is hosting this holiday season, one purchase, one drive, one thought can directly impact someone else this holiday season for the better. This is your Daily Dose of the day! #MondayMotivation #Donations #HolidaySeason #BristolRI #RhodeIsland #DailyDoseofBristolRI

You wouldn't believe how expensive it is to stock a bathroom! 😨 That's why we're running a fundraiser to help buy bathroom supplies for our Partnered Children's Homes! It costs about $25-$35 per month to provide each child with things like: 👉 Feminine hygiene products 👉 Toothpaste 👉 Combs and hair products 👉 Toilet paper 👉 Deodorant 👉 Shampoo and soap And right now, our Partnered Children's Homes care for a combined 7️⃣ 0️⃣ kids! If you do that math, it comes out to $2,450 a month in bathroom supplies. This is a significant burden we want to unload from our Partnered Children's Home. So, let's raise $2450 or more! As always, 💯 % of every donation goes straight to the cause. https://lnkd.in/gkmXwe9n #charitywork #nonprofitwork #fightpoverty #nonprofitorganization #nonprofitlife
