The numbers are in — last month, we had the best September on record at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) and Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK)! Data showed that departing passenger traffic was 2% higher than the previous September record set in 2019, and 11% higher than 2022. The momentum is expected to continue into the holiday season. Passengers are encouraged to make a plan for their upcoming travel: - Arrive early: at least 90 minutes prior to departure. - Consider parking: Valet is a great on-the-go option. - Give yourself enough time: the checkpoint lines are bound to be longer with more people traveling.

A recent report from Miami Today Newspaper states that Miami International Airport is on pace to handle 52 million passengers this year as it runs 2.56% ahead of last year's record-shattering 50.65 million. The total could be even higher with an expected surge of heavy winter travel. The airport served 26.2 million passengers during the first six months of 2023, a 2.6% increase over the first six months of 2022. Traffic rebounded post-COVID last year to a record-breaking 50,684 passengers, a nearly 36% increase over 2021. As international restrictions ease, the big change has been the return of international passengers, who historically provide far more visitor industry dollars per day than domestic passengers. The travel patterns do not just signal economic movement in the marketplace, but indicate the ongoing demand to hold a footprint in South Florida.
